Agreed. I have no interest in that big galloot either.
lol..yeah as I mentioned last week, I don't doubt for a second that Sakic has been negotiating with Stastny's agent over the Olympic break, it just makes complete sense. Doesn't sound like a deal is imminent though... [Then again, Dater wouldn't know lol]
As far as the return, I'm certain the Avs would LOVE what Dater suggests but it's pretty doubtful they'd be able to swing that kind of deal for a rental. I don't see a lot of teams with young d-men that can play 20-25 mins. per game that are actually 'available'.
@NHLonTSN: Eddie Lack will be starting for the Canucks in the Heritage Classic. #TSN #NHLâ€/This is going to get really interesting now.

Dater probably knows nothing, but dealing Stastny, if they can't come to an agreement, makes too much sense. This team is still building here. Toronto started scouting the Avs after the break, and everyone knows they'd love a center. I know everyone mocks the Toronto proposals, but I could see the Avs loving Gardiner and seeing if they could get Kulemin thrown in.
Whatever the Avs do will come out of nowhere, seeing as how everything done with Roy and Sakic has still been stuff out of the blue.

The Canucks goal is to trade Ryan Kesler next week but not for cheap. If the right offer doesn't come, he'll finish the season in Vancouver.
So which players should we target from the Canuck firesale?
I've been on the Edler or bust wagon for the last few days. Might as well start there. Elliot and a 1st for the win.
The only part of the Vancouver fiasco that I don't like is that it came too late, as I no longer hang out with my Canuck homer friend who always bragged how much better they were than the Avs. How things can change in a year.
They were in the Stanley Cup Finals just three years ago, winning the President Trophy and one of the few teams in NHL history to finish leading in both goals scored and fewest goals against. How things fell apart this quickly is astounding to me.
Thats what happens when you allow your team to become stagnant. If you are not constantly trying to improve, you are getting worse.
