Isn't that source EK ish.

Speaking of which, what does he have to say???

Way better than Eklund, but nowhere near Bob.

Looked up Ek's twitter feed and fund this:

Working on new rumor blog. I will say this, based on early conversations today's trade potential is above average IMO. Watch Montreal .

If we moved PAP for a top 4 defenseman, I don't think it would be hard to acquire another top 9 forward at the deadline. They wouldn't provide the offense of PAP obviously, but it would still bring depth.

Gorges would definitely be an improvement on Guenin, Holden, Wilson, and Sarich but he's a bit underwhelming in terms of defensive help considering how big the problem is for this team.

If he's brought in, that would seem like it would be for Barrie's partner, and that means Barrie is gonna have to step up his game even more, and do it consistently, rather than the spurts we've seen from him, for that 2nd pairing to become less of an issue for the team.

Seems like if Montreal is pulling their scouts together for some kind of weird emergency meeting, it wouldn't be to decide whether to trade Josh Gorges or not.

I don't know. We've seen that Roy wants Barrie to more or less forget about the D zone and just focus on doing what he does best. And we saw that he played his best when he had a partner that allowed him to do so. I think Gorges would be a really good fit with Barrie.

He is still only 29 too, so it's not like he won't be able to keep up.

Now you've gone an done it... we will now have 5 pages of arguing over how quickly shot-blocking and/or physical defensemen break down.

Hey, you remember that guy who made the offer sheet on Ryan O'Reilly and is now unemployed? Well...

Please excuse the caps but.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Habs have been engaged in trade talks w/ a few teams lately. Told things have picked up with 1 in particular. Sounds close, but we shall see

Things can obviously change, but sure sounds like the Canadiens are onto something soon. They've been looking for a winger to add to top-6.

Lots of smoke...

I don't know, The Avs normally do stuff when no one has a clue that it is happening.
Outside of drafting Mac we have not truly been a team where stuff is leaked before it happens.
Yes there was the Kulikov thing but it didn't happen.

More then likely a deal if any will be centered around PAP and Georges.

But, wouldn't it be crazy if we traded for Subban. And, didn't give up any of our true core assets in the process.

PAP + Barrie + 2014 1st + 2015 1st

One can dream, cant he hahahaha.

No, I agree, that's more or less what I was saying. Gorges would be a good partner to let Barrie do his thing, but my point was for that for them to improve the 2nd pairing, Barrie is gonna have to do even more than he is now, and do it consistently. Otherwise the 2nd pairing is still a big issue for this team.

Judging by where this information is all coming from... I would say the big leaks are on Montreal's side.... Lavoie claiming it first, emergency pro scouts meeting in Montreal, and then the PAP scratched news (this really added the fuel).

That said, rumored deals rarely happen.

I don't see the Avs trading PAP to Detroit, beyond the rivalry, the teams don't match up as trade partners. Ottawa has some pieces the Avs would like that are somewhat expendable.

I think I'm just petty, but I dislike the Blues. I dislike Hitchcock. I want to see them get swept in the first round.

I'm looking forward to seeing Moulson move, just to get an idea on the value of Stastny. Buffalo really should re-sign Moulson though.

I liked Anson Carter's impression of Hitchcock. That was hilarious.

And I believe (speculation on my part) the only reason they leaked the draft info was because of the Posts constant reporting about Jones.

There have been some non-specific stuff, like Liles was expected to be traded for years before it happened, and EJ was rumored to be available prior to the big trade, but nothing specific like this.

I'm surprised anybody can see in Denver right now with all the smoke around this. There's been a crap ton of rumors lately.

Fits with the team finally getting healthy in the top 6 and having available pieces for the first time in a while.

On Parenteau being scratched tonight for Avs: His name has been in play. A few teams have inquired, including MTL. Scratch keeps from injury
