Ottawa? Something like Methot and Zack Smith maybe would work. Ottawa is desperately trying to find Spezza a winger. They also have to have even money.

On Parenteau being scratched tonight for Avs: His name has been in play. A few teams have inquired, including MTL. Scratch keeps from injury

No offense T4P, but I'll trust what Moser says before anything you say. You guys are basically the tabloids of the hockey world.

I know this isn't a popular idea but I still think Roy likes Beaulieu, lots of ties to him and Tourigny and Duhamel.

We need a thread to post scouting tweets. It will be much easier to match up dates of when certain teams started and stopped scouting.

Of course Roy likes him; he has a french last name. Just look at all of those consecutive vowels. :amazed:

2/2 #ledroit

PA Parenteau cut by the Avalanche tonight. I wrote last year that the Senators should try to get the year.

Parenteau would be a good option to play with Jason Spezza, who did not expect a 5 vs 5 since November

So funny all the Canadiens fans saying, "if we get him for scraps then it is okay."

Yeah, no **** you'd like that. Unfortunately for them, top-6 wingers signed to a fair contract fetch slightly more than scraps.

I agree with this, but Beaulieu won't be the centerpiece of a deal for PAP. I could see Beaulieu as a + in the deal with the Avs sending something else back.

Ottawa has always seemed to me like the team that might be most interested in the playing style of PAP. I think they'd be more willing to focus on his offense, and overlook his defense than other teams.

Methot makes a lot of sense. He was a bit of a surprise healthy scratch for a couple games in a row. He'll be a UFA after next season though.

I would do Elliott + PAP+ 3rd for Tinordi + Beaulieu :D.

Would give us Siemens, Tinordi, Beaulieu and Bigras on the left side while EJ + Barrie lock up the right side :P

Between those four odds are one turns out to be the longterm solution next to EJ and one of those would lock up the #3 / #4 in the future as well. ;)

Would make us worse now but certainly shore up our D for years to come.

/ End dreaming /

Too bad that this will never happen :(.

Gorges is fine next to Barrie but I would want more for PAP.
Beaulieu alone for PAP would not sit well with me either.

Always liked Smith, if the avs do get him so long Stastny. I would target Cowen ( who's played like **** this year)

funny to see Eklund piggy back this and I wouldn't trust TOP. Basically glorified eklund.

From a poster on the Habs board, "ESPN radio reporting Habs are looking at Parenteau for Gorges."

I don't like how Sakic called Parenteau first thing, and now is going to sign off on him being traded.

Things change and if the Habs rumor is true, he is likely sending him to the team he grew up rooting for.

This sort of stuff happens with any UFA that gets traded.

Maybe it doesnt have anything to do with disliking PAP. The defense is awful and that needs to change. Tangs doesn't have much value and PAP does due to his contract. Staz and ROR look to have won over Roy with their 2 way play. McGinn brings size and physicality AND youth. PAP is the odd man out. It may be nothing more than that.

I don't see why this is seen as a big deal. Sakic was not as involved in the Hockey Ops at the time. Was likely doing what he was told.

And since Roy came in, it is the Patrick Roy show. PAP has not been as good with Roy for whatever reason, and the defense is a mess.
