Sadly, Pro sports today.I am pulling for Samsonov. Seems like a decent guy. But he is so technically off right now. There is no way a week of mindset will change that. Should have played 10 games with the Marlies and then make a decision. Even more pressure on him now. But unlike most and I am not sure why, I think he is going to rebound to the point he is at least playable.
They look great to me...the crazier he acts, the farther away he needs to be.See above comments.
Why can’t Hildeby be given a few games ?
We don't need to know clinical findings, what we need to know is why the Leafs are wasting games with this guy in the net. Why we will have to decide if Woll or Martin J lose their spot. Why doesn't Sam need to earn his spot. Why does he not have to play games in the minors. This is a win at all cost league and has no participation ribbons.I agree.
I don't think the Leafs are going to share Samsonov's clinical notes outside of his circle of care.
Here I'm assuming that a significant portion of his off-ice work should have included psychological counseling, and we really can't make assumptions about how that's been going or about his plan of care.
Leafs are at 90% likelihood for the playoffs. They can afford to try rehabbing Samsanov into a partially salvageable asset, especially with Woll still out.
Give him a short leash and at least try.
this is a very weird move that can seriously mess up the chemistry of the team. I think it has been proven that Samsonov’s attitude is extremely toxic and sends a ripple wave through the team. This might end up being a very costly move.Things have been going too well, so they want to reintroduce some chaos into the dynamic.

Well, I'm a bit surprised. They were doing everything right. Feels sudden but I'm sure there is a reason they feel to bring him back. I think the D is a bit better and healthier now so that might help. Personally would have given Hildey the game and then look to recall.
If I’m remembering correctly I think the guys played hard that game. I had the feeling they knew if Sammy lost he was done, a few here, myself included also had the same feeling. Just how badly done must have caught everyone by surprise. I think they’d be more than good with Sammy getting a game, but then again they could have gotten attached to. Don't see this project tossing more than two points out the window at the worst. He's been a serviceable goalie for most of his career and the upside on that is either we have an extra option in net or he becomes a moveable asset and we have an extra 2.5M to work the deadline in prep for the playoffs.I get what you’re saying but our goal should be the division lead. It’s within our reach even despite all the points samsonov has given away this year
