Knies looked good.

Needs to work on his defensive instincts I think. Ended up turning over the puck at least twice on some ABC clearing scenarios.

Uses his size well in the offensive zone to maintain puck possession, would like to see him shoot more. I think he fits Keefe's possession heavy, sustained offense scheme well.

2nd overall is within reach

And maybe if Vasi played less after 3 Cup final runs Tampa would be doing better this season and Vasi would be better rested for playoffs.
Probably. But Samsonov has not played in 3 straight cup finals. I am not too worried about his workload

My ideal scenario is Pittsburgh winning out to leapfrog both and go into WC1, and the Islanders leapfrog Florida to face Boston as WC2. Florida and PoMo can get bent.

That's what I was hoping because the Islanders might not beat Boston, but they'll give any time a rough series. They could maybe even beat us, as they have a big, physical team, which we've generally struggled with.

With the way tonight went, its a little more unlikely though

Knies definitely didn't look out of place. My biggest critique of his game was he seemed out of position at times, which is expected. Not sure you can draw many conclusions from this game.
His awareness will improve over time, as will his defensive acumen.

What stood out to me was his play along the boards, and he's got quick hands for a big guy.
