It's amazing how far he came from 3-1 down vs Pittsburgh. An unreal season that made up for so many deficiencies of the team, seriously go back and look at the team we were playing for like 3 months before the deadline.

Rest well kid, you deserve the break.

It's going to be a long summer, but here's (more than) a bit of Igor to tide us over in the meantime. Feel free to post this on any other forums or social media you may peruse. Features on Fox, Panarin, and Reaves are also on the menu for the off-season.

Not a big deal but why was Hischer's goal in a highlight of Shesterkin saves?

Weird showing the goals lol.

I didn't make it through all the breakaways and man this defense has some awful reads/pinches. Is there a stat for breakaways faced by a goaltender?

It's explained in the comments, but in a nutshell, to add a bit of suspense and give an idea of what kind of shots are getting past him (they're pretty good ;)). His save percentage is accurately reflected.

I'm trying to make these films a little different than what's already out there... re-imagine them a bit. Whether or not there's an audience for that approach is an open question.

I don't take advice from someone with a Tom Wilson avatar. Between that and criticizing Igor you seem to get cised for nothing burgers.

Jesus Christ, at least read my avatar. It's making fun of Tom Wilson and Caps fans thinking that they destroyed our franchise when we had 110 points last season. It's a playoff avatar.

Third-worst PDO in the league due to having the second-worst 5v5 shooting% and eighth-worst 5v5 save%. 33.03 xGF at 5v5 and only 23 5v5 goals.

I don’t expect them to continue massively underscoring expectations, nor do I expect Igor to play like a generic league-average goalie.

I think they need another F to help with depth, but I really do think they’ll be fine. It’s easy to be frustrated, but these types of swings are really common in the NHL. We’ve just always had the luxury of elite goaltending to keep it afloat

A better game v Wings from Igor that may be because the lines in front of him looked more settled.

.900 save percentage tonight. Not gonna cut it.

(I'm joking!!! Single game save percentage is a meaningless stat!!!)

It has. At some point, the goals will start to come (like they did last night).
If they come anywhere close to yesterday than we are in VERY good shape. But before yesterday, we only had 5 ES goals in the 4 games prior. You arent winning any games with that type of lack of production at ES. Whether they were playing well at ES is also irrelevant in my opinion, only thing that matters is if they are getting the puck in the net.
