When Dubas traded their 1st round pick in 2019 for Muzzin he had 2 years left on his contract. So based on that I think he want someone with term instead of a rental player.As always, that would be dependent on the return. I do prefer the trading of a 1st during the season more than I do during the offseason. I'd also typically expect any trade of that pick to be for a player with some term left on his contract. Trades could be different this season because of the expansion draft and Canada/U.S quarantine situation though. We have seen a blockbuster already, albeit one entirely involving players looking for a trade/change of scenery. A more recent trade was entirely made up of pending UFAs.
