If the Leafs were to trade anyone on the roster right now, who is on the block?

I love my Leafs and don't want any of them to go. Without knowing what the return is, I couldn't do it.

For the kind of return Kerfoot would get, it would really make the Kadri trade even worse.

Can we just have Kadri back please.? I can't wait for his contract to end.
Have you seen what Avs fans have said about Kadri. They don't like him and have been very criticial on his play

People who are talking about trading Kerfoot, Engvall, Dermott, etc need to realize none of the above players will bring back a significant return that would truly upgrade our team. There's 2 players who I'd look to move that would dramatically change our team. They are Nylander and Rielly.

As one poster said, when Nylander isn't engaged, he's not doing much of anything and I don't know what it is but the last couple of games, he just seems uninterested. He doesn't seem engaged at all. Not skating, not shooting and well, definitely not willing to get into the dirty areas to make plays.

Rielly is having probably is worst season as a leaf. People will bring up his points and say he's been great when really, any defenseman playing 24 minutes a night and on our top pp would be getting these points as well. His defensive game is abysmal, and his lack of iq and offense is horrible. Considering he'll be needing a new deal soon, I would look at moving him now and getting a significant package back in return.
Teams make the biggest mistakes based on small sample size evaluations. Nylander is part of the core and extremely important to the team. Dubas isn't going to listen based on some fans thinking.
I would listen on Rielly though.

I think it's fair to want more out of Nylander. He's been okay this season.

The first game against Montreal was probably one of the 5 best games I've seen him play. Engaged on the forecheck, confident with his shooting.

Since then, he's been hit and miss with how much he wants to be involved in games. And the problem is, when he's not scoring, you don't see much of him doing anything else.
Incorrect.

Kerfoot is the obvious trade fodder imo. If it's not this year, it's next. Hyman and Andersen becoming free agents. Rielly the year after. Kerfoot I like, but he's not worth his 3.5mil. Mikheyev and Engvall are both sub 2mil, and they bring just as much as Kerfoot. We lost that trade. Luckily it gave us the cap to sign Brodie which I've really liked. But Barrie was and is terrible in his own end of the rink, and Kerfoot is just "meh"

I think Dubas means he won't call up other GM's trying to trade Nylander. However if another GM called him and asked about Nylander I'm sure Dubas would listen to what the offer might be.

Remember all the times Brian Burke said he wasn't going to trade Luke Schenn and saw him as a future Leafs captain. His previous comments did not matter because he traded him to Philadelphia for James van Riemsdyk.
Burke never gave Schenn a verbal no trade like Dubas did to Nylander, something that Willy made public before the ink was dry on his newly signed contract. Weasel move imo, not only did he school the greenhorn GM on that contract, but he immediately thru said GM under the bus................

I don't think he reports . he's living his dream and if the dream ends then so be it he has other things in his life , he also owns an Esports team .

PS if it wasn't for the cap rules and the union he'd probably play for free hotdogs
You're acting like this is just a hobby for Hyman and not something he's worked his entire life for.

If the Leafs really want to improve the team they have to trade a player with more value that the scrubs everyone’s mentioning, those player won’t get you better players more like a round of musical chairs. They’d have to offer up someone of value to get value back and we all know Leaf Nation doesn’t like the idea trading a fan favourite to improve the team so it’s a moot point imo.

Sounds like you want the leafs to trade a star for a grunt.

Sorry, couldn't find any quotes by Burke saying "As Long As I Am Here" that he wasn't going to trade Luke Schenn.

Poor Willy if that's the case:

What he promised Willy is irrelevant.

He wouldn't trade Willy anyways, because he's a good GM.

That is my thought too. The only 4 players on the team that are almost certainly not going anywhere are Matthews, Tavaras, Spezza and Thornton. Players like Rielly, Muzzin and Marner are highly unlikely to move outside of a mega blockbuster. Nylander, Anderson and Hyman would only move if the Leafs really want the player the other team is offering. Anyone else on the roster could traded. I don't anticipate many moves this year.
Apparently it was korshkov for galchenyuk. Who knew Hahaha

This isnt really true though. Deals based around picks/prospects for a player ie quantity for quality) are for more common, especially mid-season than player for player deals (ie quality for quality).

Acquiring Muzzin for example didnt take a single asset away from thr Leafs starting roster

This theory holds true, but I’d counter that Dubas has been pretty aggressive about moving picks of late, at some point the cupboard will become empty?

No you are lacking reading comprehension skills , I never said this is just a hobby . what I am saying is he worked his whole life to become a Maple Leaf and he has achieved that goal , there's a pretty fair chance he walks away if that dream is taken from him by a trade .

I know exactly what you said and it's idiotic. Did he retire when he found out he hadn't been drafted by his favourite team? No. Because playing for the Leafs was not his priority. Playing in the NHL was and in all likelihood is his priority. He's 28 years old, he's not going to retire if he gets traded tomorrow. I can count on one hand the number of players that grew up as Leafs fans and then retired when they were traded away from the team.
