If it's not Jack Campbell who should be the Leafs new #1 goalie?

The Leafs finished 4th overall this year with the 23rd ranked goaltending.

Given what we know publicly, I would have preferred Husso at the draft.

Didn't like Vanecek or Georgiev but would have preferred them over Matt Murray. Fleury would have been the ideal bandaid if we could have pried his rights away.

Still like Korpisalo as a 1B. Still like Jake Allen if Montreal isn't going anywhere. Can still sign Kuemper if they throw out a real offer.

Two years ago, I suggested moving Andersen for futures with one year left and signing Markstrom or Holtby (oops) to lock in the goaltending position.

I think what he's trying to say is we can stand to do even worse in net this year and we'll still make the playoffs and then lose a 7th time in a row in the first round.
 
I wonder if we could get zub out of this?

I don’t see why Murray at 3.5 ish is that much better than mrazek and if so why not both?

Competitive hockey players don't gauge a team by spin-o-rama behind the back passes in the regular season. They are told by peers, agents, scouts, friends family and most importantly review the tape themselves. Nobody cares about what place they finish, it's how soon they exit the PO and in what fashion. Don't believe me? Look at JT who thought with our latest additions, it made sense because he clearly saw things in NYI that he didn't think would work.

AM34 is a US born player playing in a league that is trying to grow a US audience and operating in states that have better tax structures. Everyone from US fans to Gary Bettman himself would cheer on AM34 in a US market to get attendance up. That's the cold truth of the matter, pressure will be on AM34 to leave and if we don't have a damn good TB style winning atmosphere here, he's gone.

Leafs played great in the playoffs and outplayed the Bolts.

Well, it's because most have already shit on the GM for not signing someone illegally before UFA.

Campbell at 5x5 is not an upgrade. By Feb they will be crying as he implodes. What will happen with Edmonton media which are just as bad as here? When he is plan A, will he lose his starting job to Skinner? And then they have a 5 million backup?

Giving Campbell that contract is setting him up to fail.
