Zucc's disallowed goal friday night

I know im late. So I'm sure everyone is aware of the increased frequency of these "intent to blow the whistle calls". On this specific goal though, what exactly was the reason for a ref to blow the whistle? I was out at a bar watching so I didn't hear any commentary.

The puck was under Khubodin for like half a second as it trickled in; he never had possession. The net stayed on the moorings, there was no penalty.... so why exactly did the refs stop the play?

Sure, Quincey was cross checking him in front of the net before the play moved into the corner. Its still a dive.

How many times do you get crosschecked in the back before you have to embellish a little to get the call? I see a difference between diving and embellishing. Diving is where there would be no penalty and embellishing is where there is a penalty and you sell it.

He intended to blow the whistle as soon as he made contact with the goalie.

Three Stars:

Lundqvist
Kreider
Stepan

Redden:
Red Wings interference: even worse than expected
NBC telecast: blew the coverage on the first and third goals. Sound seemed off at times, no post-game at all. Mike Milbury in the pregame on the Callahan-St. Louis trade: "this trade really works for the rangers as long as they make the conference finals". That's actually the one case where the trade is bad for the Rangers: if they get eliminated in the ECF.

In my opinion I would trade a conference finals appearance for a pick. I mean of course you want the rangers to win, but being getting that far is still fun.

Yeah like being said he "intended to blow the whistle". Such a stupid rule or what to say same with when refs blows way to early in scrums infront of the net. Let the game go on.

Its just so arbitrary. "I don't like the way the Rangers scored that goal. Oh yeah, I meant to blow the whistle sooner!"

That was quite the call. I don't think he looked even that much better than his partner Sauer in his rookie year. Not to say he wasn't great.

Needless to say, most of those bold predictions I make end up being dead wrong  But there was just something special about McD that caught my eye right from the beginning, something that separated him from Sauer early on.

How would you guys feel about this ?

I'd feel great. Phillys D and Goaltending wouldn't hold up against us in a 7 game series. Sure, they would be more physical and can put the puck in the net often, but I think our defense and Henrik would give them headaches.

Not good.

We should hope for a PIT-PHI war and a Bos-Det (with Z and Dats back) series.

Probably true but facing Columbus or the Devils instead of Philly doesn't make me feel better

Philly still has mediocre defense and goaltending and relies on outscoring their opponents and I like facing a flawed team like that more than the alternative

You know you're soft when even the Red Wings has the balls to bully you around

That's nice.

I'm more concerned about the three goals they scored, and the zero the Wings scored. But damn, they sure were tough that game!
