After he took a penalty I yelled at the tv that I think it's time for Kreider to go back to Hartford. 2 goals later, it's one of those moments where you wonder if these guys can hear you ;)

I was at the Carolina game, and after Nash's 3rd give away, I yelled at him to go back to Columbus.

He responded.

Nice testament to the Rangers' depth this year. Nothing from Zuccarello, Brassard, Richards, St. Louis, or Nash. Yet, a crisp 3-0 win against a Conference opponent jockeying for playoff position.

Well, according to the announcers, Detroit was tired.

Stepan by the way has been pretty hot lately. He has 44 points--one point behind Richards and tied with Zuccarello.

Yea, I was shocked looking over the stats after the game. Despite Stepan struggling for the majority of the season, he has actually put up points. It really snuck up on me. Imagine how he'd be doing if he was actually consistent this season.

I don't see this as a fitting response to anything I said.

Either stealing a game star, or the game itself, either way you take it- not an lol situation. Not that anyone exactly stole the game today, but Henrik does more often than not.

I meant 'if Henrik doesn't get a shutout, McD gets my first star vote'.

And I meant Nash. Why would I be worried about Henrik in the playoffs? He's been stellar in all but a couple Capitals games over the years.

But he hasn't been really asserting himself. Its been largely secondary assists and broken plays. This was the first game in quite a long time where Derek was actually noticeable.

Make no mistake, his play has been crap this season. Hopefully, with a game like this Step will turn it around.

Fingers crossed.

Whatever. If his shooting percentage didn't fall off the wall he might have gotten 60 points this season, still might if his line gets hot.

Lundqvist, McDonagh and Kreider.

Big props to Lundqvist for reaching that milestone. After two shaky starts from the Olympic break, and after everyone was convinced he was done again (even though I said take it for what it's worth, a couple bad games), he continues to add to an impressive body of work over the last two months.

You know the officiating is bad when even the NBC idiots are saying that Detroit is getting away with penalties.

Congrats to Hank on tying a legend for shutouts and getting his 300th win.

Great game by everyone on D.

These are the types of games that both Step and Hank need. Confidence builders.

Hopefully the points spur Step and the shutout spurs Hank. If these guys get hot, this team is a true contender for the Cup.

Imagine if we had Hank, Kreider, Nash, Step, and MSL all hot at the same time?

Just watched the 3rd goal. What the hell was Howard doing?

Playing the shooter. He was expecting Step to ride in with that, and then either shoot or pass. Step made the pass quick and crisp, and CK had an open net.

There was an identical play in the playoffs, with Toews and Kane doing the same thing.

McD with 35 points on the season. Can he become a 50 point d-man by next year?

Stepan with 9 points in his last 6 games- 1g 8a. Consistently good-to-great defensive play night in and night out. Pat Bergeron.

Kreider with two good goals. If he can finish the season with 20 goals and over 40 points, I think that's a huge success.

We have two young studs in McD and Stepan at key positions and Kreider is younger than both of them and on pace for 45~ points in his first full NHL season.

And of course, the King.

Lots of players to be happy about on this team.

Optimism?? :handclap: Seriously with all the doom and gloom about the dark ages after that trade. We have a young and older core in key positions that will be here for a while. Nash/Step/Kreider/Hank/Mcdonagh/Girardi/Klein/Hagelin

Hopefully Staal/Brassard/Zucc are here for a while as well

Re: Jerseys

I love the 3rds. To the point where I would accept them as a jersey worn 1/3 of the time. Home, Away, and Alternate on a rotating basis each getting 1/3 of the season.

They are that good.

Brassard is here if he understands that he is a streaky player and accepts a contract fit for such a player. If his demands are not nutty, he can stay as long as he wants.

Stepan is not Tyler Seguin. He will almost never dazzle people with his shooting, hands or skating (definitely not his skating) but he has always put up points at every level.

We are lucky in that all our Jerseys are beauts, some teams don't even get a single nice one.

To be fair, it was a dive. A pretty blatant one at that. But, St Louis is a star player so he is going to get the benefit of the doubt more often than not.

The problem is that Quincey had been cross-checking even prior to the one that led to the call. Quincey should have gone earlier.
