Whenever I say "this team has potential to really do damage in the playoffs", I'll point to a game like this one. At no point during this game did I think we would lose. Great 60 minute effort where we controlled play for the vast majority of it.

Just need this consistently now. This team is coming together.

I often think that too and then we have another Philadelphia or Boston game and I remember that these are the Rangers.

That was a MUCH MUCH better team effort by the Rangers than their performance in Carolina. The D was excellent. Rangers finally got some offense from their first line. Hank was also the best player on the ice. Even though he wasn't overworked(again, excellent D); Hank made key saves at crucial times of the game.

Excellent game from the Rangers.

Hank Kreider McDonagh.

I have to go get some radiation treatment to rid me of the cancer these refs gave me

Congrats to Hank on the milestone win, solid game from him.

Good to see the Kreider-Stepan-Nash line playing better the past few games. John Moore had a nice game, but I wish we saw that more consistently from him, most of the time he doesn't do much offensively.

Watching Hags with Richards and MSL.... LOL. He is so out of place on that line, and he would be a lot more effective if he just played his own game instead of going into "fancy superstar" mode with them.

This team has some skill. Its pretty clear Torts underestimated that. Making them batten down the hatches. Must be a confidence killer to have your coach proclaim he doesnt bother coaching offense. As though the team couldnt handle it... Glad to see the Rangers with some confidence on offense. Been a while.

McD
Hank
Stepan/Kreider

Gave it to Kreider, could have gone either way.

Stepan deserves note for having a great run.

I mean, sure, but I don't think anyone would argue that this team would beat most teams who are missing their top-2 players.

Great effort today, though.

Very true, but as the season has worn on, I think the number of those games has decreased. Always hiccups along the way, but what I'm most pleased by is our ability to control play even in games we don't pull out. Against Boston, we showed we can out-play that team by a large margin. Just didn't finish chances and it caught up to us.

We're controlling play for the majority of the game in almost all of our games. That's the sign of a good team. It's only a matter of time before the standings reflect that.

After he took a penalty I yelled at the tv that I think it's time for Kreider to go back to Hartford. 2 goals later, it's one of those moments where you wonder if these guys can hear you ;)

Very nice win. Crappy reffing. Rangers won anyway.

Checked the box score. Every single player other than our goalie had at least one shot on goal. That's a group effort.

Eh, this team has more skill now than when Tortorella was running the team. MZA and Kreider were never trusted by Tortorella, MSL and Pouliot weren't here, and he only had Brassard and J. Moore briefly. Tortorella admits he underestimated McD, and D. Moore is more skilled than anyone he had on the 4th line. Tortorella would have had to have adapted to the transitioning away from the way he had this team playing in 2011-12.
