The only questionable market in this final 4 was Florida.

Edmonton and Dallas both do excellent business for the NHL.

I think Drury can move Trouba. Can I say what pissed me off about Trouba this year? That he decided to commit his time to art rather than training coming off the abomination of a devils series. Mika, who has actually been a good Ranger, has never lived down his DJ career from his younger days and Trouba gets a pass? That didn’t sit right with me and I’d really like him gone.

lmao I want Trouba off this team more than anyone but this is the most knuckle dragger Mike and the Mad Dog caller post i've seen on this forum. he can do his art and still train for the season. these guys are allowed to have hobbies outside of hockey. Jesus Christ what an absolutely horrendous person you must be.

Since it’s officially the off season let the wild stuff begin, how about trying Mika out on wing hopefully freeing up his offense more and less stress worrying about being so responsible defensively.
Seems like a bad idea, he’s the last guy you want having to be first in on a forecheck or getting tied up on the boards. The only place he should go is off the team.

The NHL/ESPN really loves Matthew Tkachuck. He’s a great player but didn’t do much besides dive at every opportunity this series. Our softness was on full display that no one went at him harder.

My biggest fear right now is that our season performance + making it to the ECF means that very little will change and we'll maintain the team status quo and just keep running it back like the Leafs.

Most things.

The defense sucks and the offense is easy to defend. You've been beating those drums for years.

The top guys haven't given enough. I still think Kreider is fine but like, should Chris Kreider be your undisputed go-to goal-scorer in a tough spot? Probably the f*** not.
Ah, well I would say thanks but it’s not exactly something to be proud of. It sucks knowing this team just is never good enough. Far too many roster building mistakes and poor drafts over the years have made the Rangers potential far lower than we hoped for. And I don’t see much changing with an aging core with too many no move clauses.

Can't believe Gorton decided.trouba is the guy they'd target.

to be fair Trouba fell off a cliff after 21-22. I don't think he was brought in to be a defensive player, he was always more of an offensive minded defensemen, but he cannot skate well enough to do any of that anymore.

Trade:
2 of Panarin, Kreider, Zibanejad for slight to medium downgrades with other attributes
Miller - How you get a top3 or top6 level guy. Has real value.
Kakko - Is a 75 OV create-a-player. Who cares.
Lindgren - Really bad
Trouba - Not good but made worse by Miller being a bonehead and Gus turning into a pumpkin

Get your assets/replacements, run half the year with as many kids as you reasonably can and re-evaluate in February. We're still trying to win now.

Why would Edmonton move him?

Plus the common theory is that he goes to San Jose as a UFA as they have a German owner.
That was a little tongue in cheek. I’d love for it to happen though and it would be the closest thing to getting 1991 Messier at this time (apart from Mess’s championships-in-hand).

Why would draisaitl leave Edmonton to go to a rebuilding team? If he leaves Edmonton, I would think he would prioritize winning over playing for a German owner.

I don’t disagree I just think it’s unrealistic the team is even going to ask him to waive his no trade which is why I suggested maybe it eases the burden on him a little bit and maybe he becomes more of a shoot first player.

They have 1 guy with an NMC beyond 2 years.

Rangers' culture around defensemen is rotten. They love big guys, physical guys who aren't good. And then the broadcast goes on and on about how great they are. Nobody learns anything.

I agree that how they evaluate defenseman is terrible but in terms of big physical guys who aren’t good that only describes Trouba. Lindgren is small, miller is as physical as someone in line at the grocery store and Gustafsson is just bad at everything.
