Hey look. We got over 90 tending and won again. What are we now? 4-0? 5-0? Too lazy to look. I hated that 2nd goal, but Skinner did more than enough tonight to help us win.

Hrudey was more than fair to the Oilers tonight. Get real.

How will it look when Kane is back as well?

Skinner - Mcdavid - Hyman
Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Arvidsson
Kane - Nuge - Philp
Janmark - Henrique - Brown

?

A bit extreme, but I wouldn't mind running loading up the top line and going with Skinner and Kane (assuming he's back near 100%) with McDavid.

Skinner-McDavid-Kane
Podz-Drai-Arvidsson
RNH-Henrique-Hyman
Janmark-Philp-Brown
Ryan, Perry

Suddenly that's a dangous 2-way 3rd line.

I agree.
I also found it very refreshing to listen to a play by play call that was actually invested in the game.
I didnt miss the Jack and Louie storytime show at all.
No BS conversations about Almond Joy chocolate bars or various 80's movies while the play is going on.

Spent most of night with Kulak, so I'm not surprised to see him start to look better.

Honestly I think the Oil might be looking for an upgrade at LD on the 3rd pair vs. another RD.

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Kulak
Dumoulin-Emberson

Gets them back to having a mamoth defence, but unlike last year the bottom 4 is increadibly mobile.
lol, no. Kulak doesn’t like his off side and can’t play it for sustained time. Ideally, they would have signed Broberg and played him on left on the second pair, push Nurse down to the third pair, traded Kulak. Nurse is a blocker of many things…

Considering the contract Nurse should be the one playing on his off side....not Kulak.

I was diagnosed with cataracts over the weekend.

But even I can see that Calgary sucks.

I'm a type 1 diabetic, which caused me to get cataracts in both eyes. I had been near sighted since I was in middle school, but after having cataract surgery I'm now far sighted. Pretty weird, and nobody warned me that could/would happen prior to the operation.

Anywho, great to see Drai playing like he's on a mission again.

Team has been surprisingly decent since the horrendous start. If they can get a couple of saves, they should win almost every night.

Leon has taken the mantle over in stride when needed. It's a pleasure to see. Loved their line tonight especially Podkolzin. The defence was solid for the most part and I thought Skinners line was decent. Philp's line should've had more ice time.

Some on here may not want to hear this... but Oilers do not win this game without Stuart Skinner.

Also, I am confused. Apparently Ekholm speared Huberdeau… What were the Flames commentators watching? It was painful to listen to them especially Hrudey

3rd line still just feels like a weird line. I kind of want to see Janmark and Brown with Philp because I think it would look stronger as a shutdown line than Henrique there. Henrique just doesn't look quick enough to be a shut down centre. I think he'll look better on a scoring line when Kane and McDavid are back to give us that option.
Ya that line feels like it could go weeks and weeks without a goal and the whole point of a 3rd line should be to at least break even while the top 2 lines get a break.. and they are all minus players at this stage which means they are net negatives out there since there are producing next to nothing offensively.

I don't know what the solution is other than trying Henrique up the lineup to try to unlock the offense he has in his game... there's really no cure for Brown and Janmark's stone hands though... they could get a good scoring chance every game and still only score maybe once every 10-15 games.

Broberg wouldn't be pushing Nurse down to the 3rd pair.

Thats for sure.

In the scrum Ekholm had the blade of his stick up in the Huberdeaus chest.
The commentators were just commenting on that.
Doubtful that it would actually be called a spear but Ekholm was pressing his luck there.

Even though I didnt enjoy listening to Flames commentators (and their biases) they were miles better at actually calling the play than Jack and Louie and their endless storytime bullshit.
