I’m done with # 47 on our team !!

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
his skills are just passable which is fine, he can make the simple plays...but hes the tallest guy on team, with longest arms and reach too it looks, and uses the longest stick...plus he skates well with that size, so he can impact the game with his size and defense

but he does need two wingers like hyman and mikheyev, or else he would look less effective

He is Freddy the Goat with acceleration

I've definitely made worse threads on the mainboards, nonetheless. Sometimes you have to shake things up. I like to think, me and @Teeder Keon are the energy guys on these boards. We liven up things by shaking it up every once in a while when things are getting stale.
Or are we ? Lolololol
We are the black aces in practise , never drafted but walked on and are fighting just to get a 4th Line spot not even in the A but in the old eastern hockey league for the old Tulsa team leafs farm team
I’m proud to have you on my line

Looks like Engvall is turning the corner. Keep him with Micheyev and Hyman. This line has been dynamite.

Engvall is solid, has some desirable qualities (size, reach, speed, defensive play, decent puck skills) but he seems to lack the physicality and aggressiveness you'd like to see out of a player in his role
Well said and agree. I, like Teeder the op am just baffled that some of our larger guys just possess 0 aggressiveness in the game of hockey, a high octane adrenaline game, Gauthier I had hopes but man you could literally walk up to these 2 players in Gauthier and Engvall at 6'5 and slap them and get a bouquet of flowers in return. Engvall has some skills but should be approached and told this is what you have to bring to stay in the lineup, he has been good the last few games on the 3rd line with Soup and Hyman however, they have been very good but I do understand he needs to be a little nastier and take the body with that big frame of his.

I don't get how people can watch Engvall's feet never stop moving, causing turnovers all over the ice and then quickly wheeling it up into the offensive zone, and say he's not aggressiveor tenacious enough.

Engvall has been good. Vesey and Barabanov are pretty useless. I’d say Boyd is good but he’s not what we need.
Leafs need some toughness. Boyd, Barabanov and Vesey don’t give them that. Simmonds back and another big forward would be great.

He’s definitely been more consistent in the last while which is a great sign to show how impactful he can be.

I like how he knows how to use his size and reach to make skill passes to set up chances

I think he does need to develop a bit more confidence in his shot, there was a chance in the 3rd where he literally skated himself into a shooting lane and chose a poor pass.

Very tiny detail but overall, the last while it's a welcome improvement to see the steps he's made.

Hyman and Soup are 200 foot players that are all over the ice. It's good to keep them with Engval, the tenacity will rub off on him. His reach and skating ability allows him to shadow the opposing C while the two winger wreak havoc around thim.

Engvall has been a bit streaky in his NHL career so far .. We've certainly seen another gear from him lately that we've seen before, but not consistently.

Thing is, he's young enough and getting his feet wet in the NHL that he could keep working at that consistency as he grows. If he does, he'll be a very valuable piece going forward.

I think we need to turn this into an appreciation thread, Pierre has been noticeable and very good since the formation of the HEM line.

I would call it ... more appropriately The Hyman Soup and 47 line ;)
I’m looking forward to seeing the boys tonight
