No he’d be guaranteed to win at that point, but it would take something as insane as that to win if Edmonton lost. The all-time record for points in a final is 13 points
It sounds like you guys are suggesting that even if McDavid somehow scord 28 points in this final in 7 games - he still wouldn't even be guaranteed the smythe, unless rest of his team sucked and/or no Florida player shines.
Jeez...
Was going to say this.A Panther will win the Smythe, should they win the Cup
McDavid will win the Smythe, should the Oilers win the Cup.
Here's the one miracle situation where the Oilers lose and McDavid wins the Cup. McDavid (31) passes Gretzky (47) for points in a single playoffs - which would likely suggI cest he would also break Gretzky's single playoff season assist record. That means McDavid scores over 2 points a game and the Oilers lose. Don't see how that is possible but you never know.
A goalie with a .897sv is not winning the Smythe. No - a different Oiler will win the Smythe when Oilers win the cup.
It will be Skinner, ainec.
It's worth noting that the Conn Smythe is awarded to the MVP for the entire playoffs. The all-time record for points in a final is 13 points
Maybe that's Knoblauch's secret plan to ensure McDavid wins the SmytheDraisaitl has no chance with ankers like Perry and McLeod on his line. Both were abysmal yesterday.
you really need to re-think a lot of things over before you post. Just to save yourself the embarrassmentMcDavid isn't even the best player on his team, their coach is. Without Knoblauch making big adjustments, they don't even make it past Vancouver.
