Huh, Seamus Casey has the same amount of points as Hutson though he has played two games more then Hutson.

Guess that means

Hutson > Casey > Cooley

Man the Devils have three Elite 1st pairing defencemen prospects in L.Hughes, Nemec, and Casey!

Thanks for opening my eyes OP!:thumbu:

Source??

Bu measured him at 5.9
Lol the teams don’t actually take those measurements, the players submit those and post them. He could have put whatever he wanted and they would’ve posted it. Source: myself I played NCAA hockey.

Those numbers are from the combine. Is it possible he grew .75 inches in 4-5 months? Sure, but unlikely. And also next to zero % that Cooley shrunk a half inch in 4-5 months.

Yes but is Casey really 5-9 1/2 tall or is he truly 5-9 15/32 tall? When is the last time you personally measured him and can we even trust your ability to read a tape measure?

If that is how you prefer to view it. I never said Hutson was better than Cooley. Interesting that is what everyone believes the point of the thread was.

This has become an interesting social experiment where posters tend to ascribe a certain viewpoint upon someone, who has done nothing more that state a stat and asked people to discuss.

This thread has delivered some entertainment, that’s for sure.

Habs fan, super happy with Lane’s play thus far but would still say Cooley is a safer bet to project to his upside.

Nope we just see through your bullshit. Painfully obvious you are trying to hype Hutson up as if there isn’t already a thread for him going strong which you contribute to already. Zero reason this would need to be a completely different discussion otherwise.

Nothing says “I’ve got nothing to actually say here” more than turning to the “I’m such an intellectual thinker” routine on a hockey message board.

Added a poll for ya! Maybe that makes for more of a discussion that it can stay out of the Hutson thread. Less thinking and stuff on my part.

Exactly, you didn't say anything thus its up to everyone else to speculate to what your point is, pretty basic stuff.

Acting like an innocent doe on this forum doesn't work, Everyone has an angle.

-edit- Apparently "thinking hard". Continue as you were.

I straight up exposed the guy for the intention of this thread and hes still trying to play innocent 🤣

Your poll is literally just two names. Am I suppose to pick what name I like better?

Hutson's offensive abilities were never in question. It's difficult for small defencemen to make it. I really wanted the Jets to draft Hutson, amazing upside, but no, he doesn't project better than Cooley at this moment.

There was never a doubt Hutson would dominate college hockey. This is not a surprise. The question is whether he can play in the NHL at his size. Not threadworthy.

I think Hutson has a strong chance of finishing his NHL career over PPG. The bad news is it's going to be a sample size of 1 game played.

I think the point is Hutson is on pace to set have the best D+1 NCAA season for a defenseman in the past 25 years over notable recent prospects like Fox, Makar, Quinn Hughes, Luke Hughes, Power, etc.

Patrick Wiercoch is the only guy on the list that ended up a bust and still had a decent career.

The only measurements that you should should quote are from the combine. It is the only outlet with nobody’s interests in mind. NHL teams do not measure at prospect development camp

You're required to have your physicals done in the pre-season for NCAA sports

been that way FOREVER

if his team page says he is 5'10........ he's 5'10

The physicals don’t correlate what is posted on the roster. I always said I was 185 when in reality I never even touched 180 in my life.

WRONG
was on scholarship for the hockey. Those measurements are done within 2 weeks at the start of a NCAA sports season. Been that way for a long time.

Also your weight example makes zero sense. Nobody cares if you lie about your weight

You're literally put on the athletic departments scales, you don't have a say in the matter.
