The German press picks up after the NY Times and reports that Nordstream pipes were blown up by a team of six persons on a yacth rented from a Poland-based, Ukrainian-owned company.

Specifically, according to information from the ARD capital studio, Kontraste, SWR and ZEIT, the investigators succeeded in identifying the boat that was allegedly used for the secret operation. It is said to be a yacht rented from a company based in Poland, apparently owned by two Ukrainians. According to the investigation, the secret operation at sea was carried out by a team of six people. It is said to have been five men and one woman. Accordingly, the group consisted of a captain, two divers, two diving assistants and a doctor, who are said to have transported the explosives to the crime scenes and placed them there. The nationality of the perpetrators is apparently unclear. The assassins used professionally forged passports, which are said to have been used, among other things, to rent the boat.

I'll upgrade myself to Admiral if they ever get me to agree to become a global mod. Ain't likely.

You know, between them getting dragged for their bad hockey takes last week and JJ Reddick dragging Perkins yesterday for a bad take in basketball yesterday, ESPN's flagship program is straight up not having a good time lately.

And yes, I did call First Take their flagship program, because... Have you watched the network lately? Its literally setting the agenda for all they do and talk about every day.

And, yeah JJ is right. That network is horrible about creating narratives where none exist. I think the one that stood the most out to me was a couple years ago, watching the F1 season play out and following as many storylines as I could throughout tv and social media, watching all the broadcasts and seeing the banter on twitter, it was pretty much about the racing.... Until the Austin race when ESPN hyperfocused on Lewis Hamilton's race throughout the entire buildup to the event trying to create a narrative on him vs the world because of his race. Mind you, at the time he was the 7x defending World Champion, having been at the top of the sport for literally the last decade. And out of nowhere here comes ESPN to remind everyone that he's a black man. It took a foreign sport that I actively followed, which ESPN rarely talks about coming to the US for a major event and seeing them vomit their agenda all over it to make me realize just how bad they've gotten.

To be fair, Hamilton did himself all of the sudden reinvent his public image to be a BLM warrior. It's like a switch was flipped all of a sudden. For the longest time in his career he was a fast wonderboy driver racking up championships and with a complicated relationship with Nicole Scherzinger of p***ycat Dolls fame.

edit: lol p***ycat

I understand that reality TV show thingy all of the sudden made F1 popular in US?

Just read the NYT article. The sub-heading is funny.

New intelligence reporting amounts to the first significant known lead about who was responsible for the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines that carried natural gas from Russia to Europe.

Legacy media ignored Hersh's story...a few places addressed it, but only to take dumps on his credibility...now NYT rolls out with an anonymous source in the US Intel community that, surprise surprise, pins it on the completely vague "Pro-Ukranian Group" which could basically be anyone...just know, it was not the US.

I guess 6 Jason Bournes just rented a Yacht out of Poland and made it happen.

Also a curious thing: NYT and the German media came out with their seemingly independent researches virtually simultaneously.

It's funny how ESPN was somehow better when it just aired a pre-taped SportsCenter hour over and over 8 times in a row. I watched 8 hours of that. Haven't and don't care about anything they air now (and somehow SportsCenter's gotten worse as well).

I wonder if, like certain other things that were made obsolete and then rebounded, SportsCenter would have come back around if they had just stuck with it.

This seems like a bad idea

I hate gambling.

I can't wait until the degeneracy pendulum swings hard back the other way and you see a modern day Elliot Ness rappelling into Caesar's Palace smashing up the the Sportsbook with a powered sledgehammer out of Warhammer 40K.

I expect you'll be waiting a very very very very long time.

If by "a long time" you mean "until the economy craters and the lights go out" then okay. Because it's going to be bye-bye Babylon when people are paying for bread with virtual wheelbarrows filled with Cryptocurrency. 😉

Drive to Survive is like soap opera reality TV schlock. I still can’t believe it is what has made F1 popular in the states. But it’s cool more people watch it these days.
