Why was Carolina able to figure out our two period suffocating defense in the first game but we haven't been able to figure out Carolina's in three games in Carolina?

The Canes are simply the faster team. The plan, the way I've seen these games, has been rope-a-dope, keep them to the outside and let them switch and cycle to their hearts content on the outside but collapse and defend in front of the net and minimize the second opportunities. At the other end of the rink, we simply do not pay the price to get to the middle of the ice and we're not fast enough to trap pucks from leaving the zone when the opposition gets possession and is looking to break out.

Look, I called the Canes in 6 and if that's the way it goes I can totally live with it. This team VERY much over-achieved and we are missing two of our best bottom 6 players in Goodrow and Blais (two guys that would've made this series very, very different).

This team needs to grow a bit more. I would let Strome go, keep Copp, and build around that with the young guys.

Great point on Blais & Goodrow. These are the games we got them for and it really sucks that neither is here.

On the bright side, it would be hilarious to see the haters reaction if the Rangers win the next 2 games. We've played like total crap most of the playoffs yet somehow just keep hanging around.

There's really nothing better than winning in 7. I'm conditioned to expect it as the only way for a Rangers team to actually win a series

Can’t remember the last time the Rangers won in 5. 6 or 7 always.

I don't think their overall team speed is that much of a difference maker...their energy & conditioning, however is a clear advantage. Even all of our young guys like KAM, Laf, Chytil, Fox & Kakko look completely gassed. None of them have played in a season this long before & its obvious they've all hit the wall.

Agree with everything else. Nobody on this team is willing to score a dirty goal, maybe Laf is the exception.

Gallant's faith in Strome/Panarin is really hurting us. The two of them have been absolutely horrible but are deployed like they're McDavid/Draisaitl. They are so bad I think they've actually been bringing down Copp. It seems like in the very few instances we see Copp away from them he suddenly becomes a stronger player.

Kakko on the 4th line makes no sense either.

Carolina absolutely dominated us tonight and we had no answer. To the point where I doubt if any line changes could have made a difference.

I for sure bring Blais and Motte back. Make a shrewd vet signing that can kill penalties and win a defensive zone faceoff and this team is so much harder to play against with everyone healthy.
