Im PISSED
Not because we lost
I expected that
But this season was suppose to be about the kids getting PO experience and build confidence
GG has completely detroyed kk's confidence
He should have been back with laf and chy and given a vote of confidence
I said this before. Kk's confidence was lowered but demoting him made it much worse. Players have to play thru those ruts and playing with our 2 worse players BY FAR aint helping him
Motte JB Hunt next game 4th line please!

I don’t care how young Kakko is, if he’s that much of a soft p***y than I don’t want him on my team. He should have all the confidence in the world with his skill. If he’s that mentally soft, good riddance.

I don’t think we’re a slow team. We make decisions slow, aren’t confident/decisive when we do make decisions and we somehow play physically slower than we’re capable of because there isn’t a soul on this roster, besides like role players like Motte, who has a HUNGRY MOTHER f***ER mentality. We’re a bunch of well fed, fat, domesticated dogs. We need some wolves. We have none.

Mika at least has shown something. I thought Kreider started the game well, he was engaged and physical. But that matchup against the Staal line just grinds and grinds you down, having a constant shadow.

Gallant making lineup decisions with his gut instead of his eyes will cost us. After the first 20 they were dog shit. Recognize who has the legs and play them more. This schtick with playing the 4th line late in game when we are trailing is an abomination.
This man coaches on cliches and stereotypes. I like his personality, but you see why he hits his ceiling time and time again.

My opinion remains that, until this team has a f***ing BALLS OUT leader - in the top six, not Ryan Reaves - they will continue to be mental midgets as they were all through Hank’s career. It’s why I was so against moving Dubi, even though injuries ended up ruining him shortly after. Didn’t matter… Gaborik, Nash, St. Louis, Richards, Zucc… the Shesty body language on the Svechnikov breakaway was a flashback to Hank’s entire career. Team in front of him being WEAK. Apparently the NYR are a first class organization that pampers their players TOO MUCH and until you have a psycho nazi like MacKinnon smacking food out of their hands, this is what you’re gonna get.

You can’t have this dude as a top six forward next season, especially in the playoffs. A kid has to step up, they don’t have much choice with the cap.
Frankie needs to be down the lineup. Use his wheels to create energy and maybe against their bottom 6 he can chip in a goal. That line is not working at 5v5 and he takes the penalty that leads to the game winning goal.

Kakko or Lafreniere should be in that spot. Not sure why Gallant kept running Chytil out there in that spot in the 3rd, I would’ve at least alternated him with Kakko to try and throw some different looks at Carolina.

They play such a stifling system when they’re leading, this is why scoring first vs Carolina is so important. Giving up a short handed goal and a power play goal can’t happen.

The Canes deserve a lot of credit, they played a great game but still the Rangers have to figure out a way to generate more. You can’t have 5 shots a period and even with only 10 sog they were only down 1 going into the third. It was right there to be tied but only generating 7 shots in the third, with maybe one legit scoring chance, is really bad considering the circumstance. Raanta didn’t even look particularly good tonight, that Strome goal that go waved off was pretty bad. You’d think that would’ve told them to start firing but instead they really got deflated and played even worse after that goal got taken away.

Lots of crybaby's on this board right now. Carolina played as close to a perfect defensive game as possible and their first 2 goals were given to them on a silver platter by dumb plays by Trouba (what else is new) and Vatrano. Another damn review going against us adds to the frustration. After that Carolina shut it down completely.

Really disappointed in Panarin. Worst player on the ice for either team and that's really capping the team's ceiling on offense.

Zibanejad I thought was everywhere tonight. When we force G7, Kreider needs to be taken off that line; Pesce & Skjei's reach and speed are his kryptonite.

Igor was fantastic again, first 2 goals he had no chance although the 3rd goal was another breakaway, which he's struggled with

Sucks.... but to win the series we knew we'd need to get one in Carolina. Why not game 7? Win game 6 and figure out how to neutralize their match up game.....

One at a time. Win Saturday see what happens

This x1000.

I just don't buy the "he's hurt" thing. Everyone to a man is playing with some type of discomfort. It's called playoff hockey. Fox is not a fast player, never has been. He got beat standing still, and to me, it was as simple as that. He was not going to catch Svechnikov on that breakaway. Panarin might be hurt, but it doesn't excuse his braindead puck management.

This team needs to become more of a team that plays along the walls and between the circles in the offensive zone. I actually thought they did a decent job all series playing along the walls at least in the neutral zone. But once again, when you trail, you have to open it up and at the same time Carolina went to their defensive shell.
We had absolutely zero cycle going on all game wonder why.

Look, I called the Canes in 6 and if that's the way it goes I can totally live with it. This team VERY much over-achieved and we are missing two of our best bottom 6 players in Goodrow and Blais (two guys that would've made this series very, very different).

This team needs to grow a bit more. I would let Strome go, keep Copp, and build around that with the young guys.

Every game matters in a series that's first to four. Could be fatal for us.
We definitely should’ve won game 1 and could’ve been up 3-1 but there’s no guarantee the series plays out the same way if we win game 1. We could’ve swept, we could’ve lost in 5 or we could’ve ended up in the same situation we’re in now. Can’t be mad about it now.

There's probably some truth to that but I think they are slow too, all of their scouting reports knocked their skating/speed. Both Lafreniere & Kakko's biggest knocks as prospects were by far their skating & speed. Same with Fox
