Losing year after year is getting old.

It's more palatable for them because they're rich and get to play a sport for a living.
Since the Sens went to the final in 2007

16 seasons
Missed the playoffs 10 times
Lost in the 1st round 4 times
Lost in 2nd round 1 time
Lost in 3rd round 1 time

Fans have every right to be impatient. Players, coaches, management and ownership need to understand the context.

Do you think only the fans care, and the players and organization is doing this as part of the plan?

No they dont
Coaches have kids you know
And the kids know about the injuries
And they know DJ is a good coach ( if you forget about his coaching record)

Also bounces and boos:cry:

Tough situation with the players backing him so much, although I think there is part of the problem with DJ as his biggest priority is being close with the players.

May work if we had very good x’s & o’s assistance

10 games in and it’s already this ugly lol how many kicks at the can does one get in the best league in the world

Just gotta make sure the next coach they bring in fits in well with the group

I can’t really say much one that front because I’m not the most well liked around here either… lol

But I’m more intrigued with who the next hires are. I know there is frustration seemingly everywhere, but man, we have two more pretty epic hires at least on the horizon.

That’s my silver lining laser focus at the moment. :)

I like you.

I like everyone on this board.

We all want the team to succeed and do well. I would like nothing more than for the Sens to win a cup and for everyone on here to party like it's 1999.

He will be replaced for sure.

The GM/or Stais if he does it earlier will commiserate with the team and DJ but stress that when the results aren’t there a change has to happen and you can’t fire the team.

Pretty basic stuff that will make the group feel bad that the results on the ice cost a man they love and respect his job. That kind of hockey life lesson can’t be taught any other way.

I think the young core needs that lesson, but I also think that the team has to stay the course in terms of its hiring process. If they want their guy and he isn’t available, wait until he is and let Staios autopilot the ship. Dorion has actually left little to do during the season and we aren’t looking at huge contracts needing doing so that a positive.

The new GM needs to be able to get his coaching staff in place, that respect of roll and position has to start from the top.

If they made a move I would want them to remove DJ and Cap and maybe Payne as well, all the major roles. Then they promote Bell as the interim, and maybe add an assistant coach who was a player looking get a taste.

Hahaha, thanks for that. I don’t deal well with negativity (legitimate or not) and it shows.

I should take a break from here and let the crew vent but it’s part of my daily routine to check in on Sensland and I just can’t help myself but to get involved.

Deep down I agree, I mean I’d have anyone’s back in here versus leafs fans, that’s gotta count for something!

What a frustrating place to be. Need luck for the roster to improve with our lack of assets and a tough sell for UFA to sign here. While a coaching staff overhaul is desperately needeed it is an uphill battle to correct the damage done by Melnyk, Dorion, DJ and the loser culture.

It honestly seems like this team is another cycle away from being a potential contender. 5 years of bubble team before we sell our stars and reset. 5 years of rebuild and maybe then there is some hope that we actually have a cohesive management and roster who can win.

It was fun to hope before season started, but we suck... again.

That's the hard part. What comes next and when. It is exciting. We know it's going to happen. We're in that interim period where it's anticipated, basically known, but may not even happen anytime soon. We just wait. I'm not out for blood, he seems like a nice guy and the injuries have been shit, but it's hard to live in that middle ground.

We‘ve got new owners and an entire new front office, alumni player engagement, soon to be new GM and coaching staff.

That is all to say that you need to hold on a bit longer brother and let the new guys start influencing the organization further.

We still have time to make this core work :)

I’m a bit torn. DJ seems to be universally respected by everyone who knows him and talks about him.

I wonder if it’s possible that he needs a few more years mentoring under a legendary head coach.

It sucks to lose good people from the organization.
Being a good guy is not the same thing as being a good leader/coach.

You gonna have your wish soon, and then we will see what those players are made of, I think we have a bunch of cream puffs, I hope that the new coach will lit a fire under them but i don't think those players have it in them
Bullshit.

The talent is there. The compete is there. They just don't know how to put it together.

Brady and Timmy if anything hurt there game by trying too hard and getting out of their game.

The core has all the things you need to succeed except good coaching and this organisation has failed them and fans in getting the right people to put it all together.

To me hiring Patrick Roy is an absolute no brainer. He is a Jack Adams coach who brings fire and identity. He is tough and disciplined but knows how to work with young guys. He has gravitas and is a winner.

Anyone who saw his summer interview can see that he has learned from past mistakes and wants to get back in the game badly. This is the kind of move that has the potencial to be franchise altering.

Also, he is Patrick f***ing Roy!
