Taylor Hall please take him.

TAYLOR HALL.
Guessing you're both being sarcastic but I'll bite.

Actually don't think he'd be a horrible shout for Dallas. I've heard some accounts from Hawks fans that he's actually playing relatively well and shows that the skill is still there sometimes.

He's playing on a dreadful offensive team so hard to judge where he's really at but on the 3rd line of a deep offensive team like Dallas he could actually excel.

Especially with the success of Duchene, Dallas probably isn't afraid of an older reclamation project.

Dallas can do a lot better than Hall however and I suspect they are aiming higher with that much free cap.

Chris Kreider is available.

2025 1st and Borque. Also a third that can become a second in 2026 if dallas makes wCF either this year or next

Bump up the conditional 2026 2nd/3rd to a 1st/2nd if there is salary retention.
No thanks. Massive overpay by Dallas. Nill already overpaid for Lundkvist no need to do another one with the rangers.

If they got him it would kick off the Western conference arms race for the season. I don't know if it would happen but it would be really interesting if it did.

Even Phil admits that that song is a rip off of Prince's 1999

Genesis is peak Phil Collins

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual.

Jim Nill villain arc beginning now. Lost to the Knights in the WCF doing the scam and now we're gonna do it right back.

On the defense side of things, the dream would be Rasmus Andersson (if CGY sells him). Connor Murphy would also be a nice two-run rental.

Offensively, and I know it's crazy to type, but a very trusted Stars source, Sean Shapiro, (who doesn't just float things around) specifically name-dropped Evgeni Malkin in an article this morning as someone he sees Dallas kicking the tires on. I would be shocked if something came to fruition, but if any more smoke starts appearing on that front, you never know..

As for pending UFAs, I could easily see them interested in Granlund to slot into their stacked top-9. Dallas runs three true scoring lines, so a traditional bottom 6-er wouldn't make much sense for them.

I do expect Dallas to be aggressive, though.
What would you offer for Andersson?

I'm not a Ranger fan, but I think you under estimate what teams will paid at the trading deadline when a club like Dallas has a great shot a winning the cup but needs that 1 player. Playoff teams never worry about age contract at the deadline when aquiring players.

NYR can retain 50% and then take Dumba lol. Not sure who's worse this season out of those two

Honestly, this is close to what NYR fans are thinking. Dallas was rumored as one of the places Trouba would go, and the Rangers retaining 30-50% and taking back Dumba as the core of a deal has definitely been talked about. Trouba happy at 4M is really not a bad veteran D, he’s mistake prone if over used and has definitely lost some mobility and puck skills, but there’s no doubt about his physical presence and ability to wear down his matchups, especially in a series. Trouba seems checked out after publicly being shopped this summer, but when motivated, while nowhere near an 8M defender, he’s got some value at 4-5M… especially on a team that has more than one D clearly ahead of him on the depth chart.

yes they do. That's why they get retention and guys who don't stay on their cap long term

Chris Kreider for Lian Bichsel, Mavrik Bourque, Evgeni Dadonov, and a 2025 1st round pick
I like Kreider but Dallas loses a regular fwd who can play up and down the the lineup, a young fwd who I think will have his full time spot soon enough and don’t do anything to help the defense while losing Bischel who could be a regular later this season; and give up a 1st.

No thank you.

I’m not worried about his age and cap space is not an issue with the seguin injury. I just don’t feel Kreider is worth that package. I would not move Bourque for him. If you were talking panarin different story.

We gave you Tanev for cheap so if Andersson is the play this time you gotta give us something nice :naughty:

Not sure why everyone is just assuming Dallas will spend all of Seguin's cap on one player...not like Seguin was their one and only good player.

If they want to spread out the cash, David Savard wouldn't be the worst use of $4M for a team with cup hopes this season. Right handed vet dman who can play top 4 if needed.

Try to forget he's been a Hab for the last 3.25 seasons before crapping on this post.
David Savard is still in the league??

I said Trouba would be a good fit on Dallas. Vancouver might need him more, relying on Myers, Juulsen and Desharnais for 2 months. But I doubt Texas is on Trouba's NTC.

If you are the Stars you probably want 2 players with that Cap space, one to replace Seguin and one to upgrade the defense.

I’d include Mavrik Bourque and a draft pick. Don’t want to lose Bourque, since he’s gonna be good, but getting a perfect partner for Miro for two playoff runs is invaluable.
What's the situation with Bourque having a disappointing rookie season when Stankoven has been a relevation? Would you add Lundkvist into the deal as a replacement RHD?

Bourque is looking like a dud. No reason or incentive for Calgary to take him on as a main piece.
