So The Boston Globe released their HOF ballots today and, once again, Shank's is hilarious. He voted for one player, Jeff Kent, for the second year in a row. It gets even better when you know that he didn't vote for Kent in his first 7 years on the ballot and hasn't voted for more than one player since 2018.

I gotta say I dont see the benefit for the plaintiffs here, win or lose

If they win the MLB will just say ok and pull all minor league affiliations below say AAA and be done with the liability. Then all those teams will have to fund their own operations and find players not under MLB team control...effectively killing the leagues. They can complain all they want, but the MLB affiliation is why they are even viable in the 1st place.

I can't roll my eyes hard enough at this.

"You know what, after pondering the matter for years, actually Jeff Kent really is the only all-time player".

MLB lockout news: Thursday meeting scheduled between league, players
MLB is not expected to address free agency or salary arbitration in their proposals, but discuss further ways to de-incentivize tanking among teams, including the elimination of draft pick compensation for teams signing free agents. Major League Baseball has offered to increase the minimum salary from $570,500 to $600,000, which would rise to $650,000 and $700,000 through the CBA.

MLB Pipeline says the Red Sox have the most-improved farm system in baseball over the course of 2021.

Here are the 5 most improved farm systems

1. Red Sox
Preseason rank: 24
Re-rank: 12
It’s never optimal to finish with one of the worst records in baseball, especially in a town like Boston, where competing annually is expected. But a rough 2020 led to the Red Sox earning the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 Draft, the earliest Boston has picked since back in 1967 and the first top 10 selection since Andrew Benintendi became a member of the Red Sox as the No. 7 pick in 2015. That resulted in the Red Sox being able to add the player MLB Pipeline had at No. 1 on its 2021 Draft talent rankings, high school shortstop Marcelo Mayer. Add that to strong seasons from Triston Casas, Jarren Duran, surprising 2020 first-rounder Nick Yorke and right-hander Brayan Bello.
