No. Just Graves and a pick lolGraves and Petterson?
We’ll probably have to take salary back.

Didn't they just re-sign Hoglander last year? I wouldn't give up on him, he's a very solid and versatile winger who can move up or down the lineup. I still think he has a couple 65pt seasons in him.

Not even close a RHD 4/5 has waaaay more value in the league than a hoglanderSeems like a fair trade. Good call.
He scored 24 EV goals last year in a depth role, it's pretty clear he has some offense to his game, he just doesn't seem to mesh very well with Tocchet. He's on pace for like 7 or 8 goals and less than 20 points.
Why would Seattle believe he's going to inject any offense?
I believe they want a bigger fish. Borgen is another guy in the Soucy mold. 3rd pair guy that can play some 2nd pair for a spell.Borgen would be a huge add for Vancouver.

It was clearly an outlier season for him based on his insane shooting percentage. His biggest problem is he's not defensively responsible enough to be trusted in the bottom 6 and not talented enough to be a full time top 6 guyHe scored 24 EV goals last year in a depth role, it's pretty clear he has some offense to his game, he just doesn't seem to mesh very well with Tocchet.
I think he'd do great on a team with a bit more room to free wheel.
they need a bonafide top 4 RHD. Borgen is definitely a good player, but Hoglander is better packaged with another asset to acquire a player that can shoulder a heavier load. not to say Borgen cannot be that guy, just not that calvary that Vancouver needs in the back to emerge out of the west. This year. Not really. He’s probably the best RHD they can get for a piece like Hogs.

I find it interesting that whenever the Canucks struggle Dhaliwal suddenly gets all these trade rumours.
Having flash back to the 80's in Edmonton when Glen Sather would send messages to his via either Terry Jones or Jim Matthieson to tell a player to get a move on. Both writer mentioned in different books they wrote of some of the stuff Sather did to play games with players
Yeah that seemed like a pretty rancid take. You'd rather keep a guy who scored at a rate of 20% than the Jack Adams winning coach who finally turned the Canucks into a playoff team?
People keep going on about how Hoglander is in Tocchet's doghouse and how he doesn't like Hoglander. Why do you think that is? Its not because Tocchet is unprofessional. It's because of the reasons I listed. . Hoglandrr is poor defensively and not skilled enough to be in the top y. If he was he would have seen topb6 duty while Boeser and Miller were out.The Canucks seem to be doing fine with him in the bottom 6.
The Canucks could use two top 4 dmen but other than that major issue, the roster is good (including Hoglander).
It’s going to be Hogs and Forbort + for Pettersson.
What pick or prospect comes with that from Van will depend on whether and how much retention is on Pettersson.
Desharnais would likely move in a deal for a rhd.

Nils Höglander Trade Rumors: Washington Capitals a Potential Landing Spot - NHL Trade Rumors
Will Nils Höglander be traded to the Washington Capitals? We break down the latest NHL trade rumors, potential trade packages, and why this deal might or might not happen.www.nhltraderumor.com
Yeah I said ‘speculation’ for a reason. And the package does seem too large. Reason for posting was to hopefully get some info on Chesley. Canucks board often talks about Iorio but maybe Chesley has more upside."nhltraderumor.com" is complete junk
I don't at all get the Caps rumors and even if I did that proposed package is way too much. If this was in the summer when he was still thought of in the same tier as McMichael/Protas/Lapierre then I would get it but they've all completely passed him. Caps have already taken their swings on middel 6ers with upside (McMichael, Protas, PLD, Mangiapane) and they've all paid off big time, no need to make another in-season
We have good fwd and d prospects though. I guess you just dont see Sabres moving Byram? With the Canucks for Byram? Honestly, I don't see many options, we just don't need Hoglander, we have a lot of forwards, but Byram plays an important role for us in the first pair.
Those guys def have a role to play. Not sexy but teams like the Sabres don't need sexy, they need mean. Obv again these guys wouldn't be the centerpiece by any means.Yes, seeing those 2 names would for sure make any GM jump for joy and beg to sign on the dotted line ASAP.
I think they should hold out for the carcass of Jet Woo’s potential NHL career too though.
No, it's not that, we just need a hockey deal, not for futures. We have too many PMD LD, but we don't have a single good defensive top 4 RD. We also don't have 2C. Maybe a top 6 W would be interesting, but that's third priority. We have good fwd and d prospects though. I guess you just dont see Sabres moving Byram?
