Very big buy low potential here, Hoglander has all the talent needed to be successful, but his play away with the puck is lacking.

Hw lost the trust of Tochett, but should still get a good player in return

Think like Viktor Arvidsson. That's his upside. Don't expect too much and you'll love him.

Only way this would work for the Caps would be to trade Milano for him but he'd effectively be the 13th/14th FWD so he either wouldn't play much this season or Lapierre would be permanently demoted to Hershey while Hog and Vrana slugged it out for 3LW or nacho duty.

Canucks finishing up a 6 game roady tonight in Minny.

I have a strong suspicion this is Hoglander's last or 2nd to last game in a Canucks uniform.

Here's one that might be a win win for both teams... Seattle/Van

Nils Hoglander and Will Borgen as the main piece. Small add from Seattle imo to make it work for both sides.

Seattle is desperately needing to inject offence in their system. Burakovsky i believe is a healthy scratch tonight and has 1 goal in 25 games. Bjorkstrand has been in the doghouse as well. Hoglander will be able to step into that top 6/9 and create offence instantly.

Borgen is a solid solid RH. Can be a great partner for Q Hughes while Hronek is out for the next 2 months. At 6'3 He also fits the big bodies Dman prototype[e that Tochett likes. He would be an upgrade on Juulsen and Desharnais and maybe even Tyler Myers.

Call in those future considerations from the Sprong deal.

I'm not super excited about Borgen, I'd rather pay extra and get a better player.

What about Hoglander for Gourde? Gourde is a UFA at the end of the year. Vancouver needs a fill in center.

Suter has been doing well at C, and if the Canucks were to add another player capable of playing C, it would be a right shot player

Hoglander + one of Wallinder/Lekkerimaki for Rasmus Andersson
I’d jump at Hog and Wallinder…

…the problem is I’m not sure Detroit goes for that.

No chance I do Hog and Willander though.

I think Lekkerimaki and Hog is a fair ask and a fair trade for both sides.

It would obviously depend on how high both sides are on Lekkerimaki though.

When did Detroit acquire Rasmus Andersson ?

Gourde can play both wings seamlessly as well, but don't think we should be moving Hoglander for a forward - would prefer to move him in a package along with draft capital like a 2nd for a defenseman like Pettersson
