"Lucas" in this context means "Luca, plural", so I'm not sure if that would work. I mean, it couldn't hurt, but then we'd have to consider the actual merits of the deal and even then I think we kind of like LDBB. :)
Will throw in a retro Luca Sbisa Canucks jersey to sweeten the pot.

Multiple teams extremely interested, here is the clip.

Sure sounds like it’s happening in the next week or sooner.

A recent 2nd round pick with the chops to play a bottom six role, and the skill to play a top six role. Tocchet doesn't seem to like him, but I'd rather keep him over Tocchet, if I'm being honest.

You'd rather keep a guy who scored at a rate of 20% than the Jack Adams winning coach who finally turned the Canucks into a playoff team?

Very big buy low potential here, Hoglander has all the talent needed to be successful, but his play away with the puck is lacking.

Hw lost the trust of Tochett, but should still get a good player in return

And specifically as a head coach, maybe Hoglander would have made an excellent coach, who knows.

Shoulda just kept Podkolzin if they were gonna move Hog (and Sprong)

Even with all 3 being moved, there's still a logjam at forward. Hoglander is one of the few pieces of value at the NHL level that the team can afford to move for a much needed defence upgrade.

He's lost some of his shine from last year. However, that speaks more to the Canucks roster composition and deployment. Tocchet likes his Skill-Pair+Utility guy deployment. That doesn't leave a lot of prime minutes for him to capitalize.

I'm prepared to let him go so that he can be rejuvenated with a coaching staff that doesn't look at him as a liability.

What does he return? /shrug. I don't have high expectations other than we try to acquire something Tocchet will use.

I'll say this, Hoglander, alone, does not return enough to resolve this teams need to push Myers, Soucy etc down the icetime list.

The problem is that those types of players are a dime a dozen. Lots of middle six guys fall through the cracks after their ELCs, because that ~$3m cap hit is excessive for similar production you can get from a waiver claim or another team's cap dump.

If I'm a rebuilding team, why am I paying even minimal assets for a $9m commitment over the next three years? When I can just as easily scoop a player in the same manner that San Jose acquired Jake Walman.

The GM that 'buys low' on Hoglander lacks vision IMO.

They need a dman and a center (but I would say a dman more).

Look at the teams who could use a bottom 6 forward and have a UFA dman to spare.

New York - Lindgren (but would need a replacement dman in a separate deal).
Columbus - Provorov
Pittsburgh - Pettersson

I don't see a center that NYR or CBJ could realistically offer. Penguins could offer Glass, DOC, or Acciari.
