All these comparisons with football is silly, The beauty of our game is it's a winter sport, played on ice, it has a magic aura that no other game in the World has. I mean screw summer.
Anyone in the World can play all those other sports but to play Hockey right away one has to know how to skate. Anyone on this planet can run, kick a ball, pass a ball, but the element of skating on water, is so unique, right away that makes Hockey a team sport more so then any other game. Kids are learning to overcome the fear of falling or getting hurt on ice, that brings them together.
