Not sure why you would make a deal on Facebook or anything like that.

There are different rules between skaters and goalies and if they can have a Rookie Card produced.

A skater has to play an actual regular season game while a goalie just has to dress for one. So while Bibeau may not have played an NHL game yet he has dressed for one making him eligible but since he didn't see any ice time UD didn't have any NHL pictures ready and had to use a pre season picture.

Nylander could technically get called up by the leafs before the end of the season depending if other forwards get hurt or trades happen. Also depending on his own health.

So..um...this is unreal.

I bought 2 blaster boxes of upper deck series 1 15/16 the other day..

No joke in one blaster box every pack contained 2 or 3 young guns cards!!!!!! I got everybody basically except for McDavid or Max Domi.

I got Larkin, Panarin, Bennet, Hanifin canvas, McDavid/Bennet checklist, McCann, Fabbri, Petan, and all the other "big rookies"

I have no idea how this happened. Someone in packaging screwed up?

Upper Deck may choose to hold him over for next year though, if he plays a couple games this year.

Would be a fairly big name for them to market.

Found a Gretsky rookie card O pee Chee in a not so great condition...rated only a 7 by the PSA for just under 700 USD...is that a good price?

Also found a Pelle Linbergh signed rookie card with letter of authenticity but they demand about 1200 USD for that....seems abit over priced.

I got my Gretzky grade 5 for about $200 CAD about 5 years ago. Hard to say.

I thought a signature on an original card actually devalues it.

Hey it depends how much the card means to you. 7 is pretty low but then again, anything > 8 is probably priced astronomical.

Broke one Series 1 Tin so far, nothing to really write home about. 1st pack had the McD / Bennett checklist, was downhill after that. Other YG's included a Sprong and JF Berube, I think it'll make for a good laugh since the photo taken of Berube was in the 1 Game he played for New York this year wearing a Kings helmet and Pads.

7 is NM. For a Gretzky rookie, that's a solid grade. The card should look pretty good at that grading. By not in "great condition" what do you mean by that? If the card is legit, it should have no major flaws at 7. You should see a few minor corner/centering issues at most, and the card should still be aesthetically pleasing.

7 for a modern card would be horribly bad, but for the Gretzky it's pretty solid.

The price is also pretty solid, assuming there are no qualifications on the grade such OC or MC. The price is better than ebay, and if you are buying from a trusted source, that's even better.

I have a 7 and a 7.5 BGS, which I graded myself. They are both the Topps versions though, so less valuable. I paid $200 CAD each. Could probably get 2-3 x that price now.

Never make deals on insta and facecrack. thats unfortunate man. What you get scammed out of? money? Cards?

Money :( It was 35 bucks but it sucks.

I'm a bit too trusting...going have to crack down on reference checks. Making another trade for Eberle YG but I asked around first and got good feedback.

I want to buy a Panarin Young Guns rookie card. But I am not sure which one to buy.

Can someone please explain me the difference between a Panarin YG and Panarin YG "Canvas" rookie card?

if theres both I believe the canvas is probably worth more. Best is to check Beckett or ebay.

Some YG such as Johansen are only on canvas.

Canvas is a sub-set in the Upper Deck Series 1/2 line. However, since Canvas is a subset, canvas cards can never be "true rookie cards".

Canvas is, however, rarer. The Young Guns fall 1/6 packs, but there are 50 of them in each of Series 1 and 2. While the Canvas Young Guns fall 1:47 hobby/retail, 1:96 blaster packs, but there are only 30 of them in each of Series 1 and 2.

I would stick with the regular Young Guns card if you are only going to buy on of them. It's the "true" rookie card.

Johansen has a regular YG as well.

There are a bunch of YGs in canvas from this year, who don't have their regular YG yet, but they will. Ex. Eichel. I've never heard of a YG just coming out in canvas though. I could be wrong.

I just brought my childhood hockey cards (mostly 1972-1976 but also a smattering from the years after that) from my parents' place in Winnipeg out to where I live now. I haven't looked at these in a decade or two. Is a 1980 Wayne Gretzky 2nd team all-star card (#87) worth anything? What about Wayne Gretzky 1980-81 Scoring Leader (#384)? Where is the best place to find out what they're worth? I don't know about grading but they look fresh out of the package to my eye.

Unfortunately the era that I collected didn't have much going on, so there don't seem to me to be any cards there that would be of massive value, which is generally confirmed by what I've seen on eBay over the years. We never thought of the cards as anything but junk to trade at recess and make card houses with, so they're not all in the greatest condition either.

What about WHA cards? I have quite a few of those for a couple of the seasons. They weren't very widely distributed - even the ones that came out as part of the general NHL series prior to the first season (72-73) didn't seem to be common at the time.

What about the Team Canada '72 series cards?

Do people collect the OPC Canadian Major League Baseball cards? I have a few hundred of those from the same era although no kids I knew ever traded or cared much about them.

Thanks in advance for any answers to my undoubtedly naïve questions about hockey cards.
