I did not know that. I'm not sure that makes total sense, but I can see some logic.

However, without Raymond this team need more line-driving players up front (especially at center). Of those playing center, i feel only Ljungman has that potential (but then his wingman from Linkoping was unexpectedly left out of this tournament?). I wonder why not Eklund is put at center, I recall he was mvp of a whole 4-nations tournament in U17? There should not be need for 03's to fix this as for now, although the players mentioned earlier definitely should be on the radar screen.

Agree on Eklund, he's a natural center. Unfortunately players like him will always be moved to the wing in the Swedish system.

Pls elaborate, does not make any sense.

Smallish, quick, offensively minded centers playing with an older age group will pretty much always be molded into wingers. In club teams and NT. Just look at our center lineup at WJC tournaments the last few years, we tend to move all our skill to the wing. Many started out at center.

Starting from last season, the Swedish hockey federation has ordered the U16 & U17 national teams to stop using underaged players. I believe they will be a lot more hesitant to bring U17 players to the Hlinka tournament too.
Have they given any reason why?

So you are saying we tend to destroy center talent by rushing such talent into older age groups where they are molded into something else?

Skilled players will be moved to the wing because the federation don't want centers who take risks with the puck for some insanely stupid reason.

This truly sounds insanely stupid. Why not have and develop such skills mid-ice instead of in corners and along the boards? Also sounds like a dead-end as at a certain level even the most skillful wingers do need help to open up time and space.

Oh well, a discussion for another thread I guess.

Aside fro my Dad passing away in April it's been o.k, hanging in there.

How about you?

Sorry to hear.

Good man enjoy some time in the backwoods, getting some camping in here and there.

Our boys look to be pretty solid, we got a good group up front and some very mobile D men.

Wave after wave relentless Canadian forecheck on display early which we always like to see jj.

Thanks man, appreciate that.

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself this summer. Yeah, team looks pretty good but it's a bit of a watered down tournament so I keep that in mind. Checking out the games of top prospects is fun too.
