Reilly needs to move on. You can't be a 7.5 #1 d and need a partner to bail you out each time. He is not a #1 D. he was standing still in the D zone watching Pasternak retrieve the puck. No awareness of where the puck was going.

Guys to move on from

1. Shananhan - he is the mastermind of this debacle.
2. Keefe. gets outcoached is games that matter
3. Marner - can't make what he wants. No show when the games get hard
4. Reilly - not a #1 but is paid like it.
5. Samanov - Terrible clutch goalie
6. Jarnkrok is a waste of a roster spot.

Let JT walk away after his deal or offer him 3 x 4..5 or say see ya.

Let's get the housecleaning started tomorrow. Announce Berube as the new HC

I have to eat my words (and the money I lost). I hate this result, but that was a hell of an effort by the Leafs. Cold comfort.

I apologize if I irritated anyone this season. I thought this one was a lock.
Hopefully change is on the way.

Samsonov could’ve pokechecked Pastrnak on that GWG but whatever. He can f*** off too, I won’t miss him. Concerned about Woll’s health. He’s unreliable if he keeps getting hurt like this. Leafs have made him overexert himself but Christ goalies can stretch and go flying occasionally and still be fine.

Let’s talk about some of these ‘changes’ that should have happened after Montreal:

1. Keefe May have earned a stay of execution, at least until the next big losing streak but I’m not the only one who would be happy to see him go now.

2. Aside from a few pretty plays and a pretty goal in a game that was already over Mitch was a phantom. Retain 2.5 and you’d get a stud young D (not as in a guy like Heiskanen - I’m thinking more a guy like Nemec or Clarke), a competent middle six guy and a 1st every day, not to mention the most valuable thing of all; a big piece of cap space. He needs to go.

3. Try to lock Bert and Domi to fair deals with term, do the same with one of Eddie or Lyubushkin.

4. Samsonov was not why we lost this game - but he’s why we lost the series. Peace.

5. Shanahan…you tried, you failed but you tried - but you did fail.

Fun game and I like the way this team is trending now. Just have to make a couple more moves.

Freaking love Benoit. Warrior. Domi, Bertuzzi and Knies battled their asses off all series. Extend both Max and Tyler if possible. Love them. Nylander was a stud.

Fire Keefe and Shanny. Need new voices and fresh ideas. Trade Marner for a 1st pairing RHD. Use the remainder of the money for a 2C. Extend Edmundson at a cheaper hit than Brodie. Dump Sammy and run with Woll and someone else.

Run back something like...

Bertuzzi-Matthews-Domi
Knies-Addition-Nylander
McMann-Tavares-Jarnkrok
Robertson-Kampf-Holmberg
Dewar

Reilly- Addition
Edmunson-Liljegren
Benoit-McCabe

Woll
Addition

I think we're starting to see a team that is close. Need a quality 2C that pushes Tavares down in the lineup, a stud RHD (preferably with a point shot) and an upgrade on Samsonov to pair with Woll. Meanwhile, let guys like Cowan, Grebenkin and Minten bake a little bit in the minors.

You want them to run with Woll the China doll?

They NEED to make some major changes. Previously I was in favor of keeping the core together and trying again, but this playoffs has proven beyond a doubt that big things need to change. Its INSANE to see all these highly paid players barely able to score when it counts the most in the playoffs. Time to make some big moves and shake things up because the current mix can't do it.
I agree especially on the scoring part. This 'core' is higher paid than any other core in the league, and they are paid to generate offense. When you can't score goals in the playoffs, that is as close to being the definition of a 'failure of this core' as you can get.

Haha, you'll make your money back the next dividend payout.

You didn't irritate me, for what it's worth. If anything, it made the back half of the season more interesting. All in good fun. Next year will be awesome.

This ain't on Samsonov. This is entirely on having a 4% power play, scoring a maximum of 2 goals except for 1 game. This team had some tough injuries and battled hard but they were just not good enough even if they won this. Need a big time off-season to fix some of those issues.

Offense dries up yearly in the playoffs. It's one thing if they're dominating games and can't score, but they're playing timid low event hockey. The chances weren't close 5 on 5

Really wish we had a different coach for this year to see if anything could be salvaged from this core.

Tough way to lose on a direct dump in like that.
We played pretty good the past three games but it's hard to come back from such a deficit.
I really like the upped physicality and more balanced approach this season.
Will be a very interesting offseason, you'd assume there will be some real changes.
Marner and Reilly both got beat on that play. 20 million dollars worth of suck.

Not sure why folks are blaming Sammy
Make that 13 out of 14 games where leafs scored 2 goals or less

Power play is at 4% that includes a 4 mins and 5 pp in one game
That included a 69 goal scorer

PK until last game was horrible

Goalies didn't help the matter, but golies didn't lose the series for us. It was our offense

Of course Woll hurt.
Of course lose the lead in the 3rd.
Of course OT.
Of course Pastarnak.
Never ever us.
Lets do it again next season.
If I didn't know better I'd say the whole f*ing thing is rigged

With a better coach we win that series. They can not continue on with this loser coaching staff.

MM and Rielly really pissed me off. Sammy too but he was always dicey and makes peanuts.
I didn’t mind Moe playoff, it’s obvious they need another top defender.

That should be Marner last game as a Maple Leaf, any big game moment and he hides away.

Time for Sheldon to get the f*** out. If our special teams was capable we could’ve won this series. Instead the PP is shit AGAIN and we fail to convert multiple times and it costs us! Clear the whole coaching staff!

The PP was infuriating. I don't know how it can be that bad in a series. One goal... WTF? A lot of the time it didn't look very dangerous, either.

12 goals scored in 7 games

Not winning anything with those offensive numbers

marner and tavares combined 22 million in cap hit shit the bed again and again and again.

now we can add rielly to it too.

f***ing dubas.

If we can't get marner to waive his ntc/nmc to trade him then just throw next year into trash can. WE MUST RETOOL. We gotta throw away next season to retool.

Meanwhile we should give all the young kids a chance to gain NHL experience.

I have never see such a p***y of a player as marner in the NHL especially making big bucks who continuously shits the bed at the first sign of adversity

Domi was fine. Bert is not worth keeping around.
