Post-Game Talk: Hit em with the 4 like AM34. Leafs lose 4th straight game 7 to Boston: 2-1

In hindsight this game could have been over by the 2nd period if we ran matthews-nylander with bertuzzi all game long.

I'm over Keefes lines. It's game 7. Stack the top 6 for the entire 60 minutes.

Hard not to feel let down by Sammy always finding a way to let in a stiinker or two.

But investing so much cap in skilled forwards should translate to not expecting your goalie to be perfect every game.
Maybe. Guy needed to pitch a shutout to get the win. Silly to think that is reasonable.
The problem with this team is the same as it has been... not enough forwards willing to do whatever it takes.

Kyper saying that just reminded me, we're going to hear so many stories from The Toronto media in bed with Paul Marner about Mitch's demands, They are going to drive up Mitch's price.

He never earned the 10.9m. He's not a 10m player. Never has been.

We got trade pieces to offer, get rid of Sammy, marner, jarnkrok, Lilly, somehow Reilly and JT

He's Ovie. Was always a playoff choker until one year the team around him got better. Then the narrative stopped about him
Yeah all it takes is AM to have one good Playoff...one good series even. But, with how much you pay the top of this roster AND how little draft capital/prospects you have, its going to be very hard to make the team around him better.

Matthews clearly couldn't physically handle a full workload and therefore was put on the 3rd. Not sure what he ended up with, but he was at like 14 mins halfway through the 3rd.

The offense hasn’t come through in the playoffs in recent memory. But Shanny keeps running it back. Hopefully he’s run out of town.

We should have been chasing a President/GM asset combo a la Doug Armstrong / George McPhee a long time ago.

We've been absolutely short-changed here in Toronto with sub-standard quality of management.

Lou was perhaps the best asset we had who actually saw a good culture shift from losing to winning and we handed it over to a wannabe-MBA type with no experience in hockey.

How far this team is is also just so daunting to think about. This was a two week series that took so much out of them. They've got to win 16 games to win the Cup and they average 3 every postseason. This team is so far from being a true contender it isn't even funny.

Jarnkrok gone as well. He is a meh player making too much
Agreed. But he can be useful on the defensive side and playing non event minutes.

I'm hoping we finally build a team where having a 2mil 4th liner is OK. Or a 2.2 mil dman on the bottom pair.

I despise this whole stars and minimum wage structure we have going on.

He looked fine to me whenever he was out, constantly pinning forwards out of the play in the d zone too. Keefe just thinks he's playing chess but is really a dumb ass

Well this sure is another heart breaker, will start reading how to fix this tomorrow, but for tonight, I just want to thank the HF leafs board, it was amazing posting, and interacting with a lot of you during the season, cant wait till we start again!
Remember when that one random montreal fan kept shitting on Slaf in our GDT. So many gems this year

Let’s not go there, Scott was an amazing goalie at that age. Injury derailed him. Just like if whoever was picked after Amirov become this great player….you are not going to go such a classic Leafs thing….
Fair. No disrespect to him. It just feels like no matter what we do, it somehow blows up in our faces one way or another down the line.

Getting the game to the 3rd period tied should have given us a slight edge. There was blood in the water. But they seemed to play more tentative in the 3rd and OT and allowed Boston to build some momentum.

More evidence that this team has nowhere near the killer instinct you need to make a real run in the playoffs.

Feel better?

Heads will roll, they can't and won't run it back
I feel OK. I was pretty irked by "you wrote them off" cheerleading squad.

This night sucks. This should never happen. TOR should have beat them, but here we are. This veteran group is still not winning in the post-season...
