Post-Game Talk: High Wolltage revenge Leafs 2:1 Avs

The entire playoffs last year was them getting outplayed and Woll stealing games... we've already seen this formula, it worked well until Woll got injured.

Leafs didn't get outplayed by Boston...

It's just the difference between a goalie below average and a goalie able to fight with an other solid G.

but again leafs took a lead late in 3rd and leafs started to played like shit and Boston tied it like 2 min later... Now imagine the same game with how leafs played the last 5-10 tonight. It's the difference between winning and losing

I did like their third. Even a goal up as fortunate as that was, they still pressed and pressed and didnt let up, and had like 5-7 scoring chances that could've easily been cashed.

A lot of folks talkin' bout "identity". I'd take that effort level in the 3rd as a great template for who they can be, as we head into the playoffs.

We were good defensively. Offensively we needed two breaks our way. I’ll take it, but COL controlled more of the game, and I’d like to see us establish a stronger cycle game in the ozone.

We’re getting my outworked in the 1st, but Woll kept them in it until they found their legs and pushed back.

Enjoying watching Carlo. He’s settling in nicely thus far and would like to see him gaining familiarity with Rielly as a pairing.

Lucky as he’ll win, but they played well enough to be in that position and got to feel good for Lorentz. Guy just bleeds blue.

It wasn’t pretty but they acquitted themselves well. Hopefully they have something still for tomorrow night.

Cheers

The last two games have been massive confidence boosters for the team and fanbase. Colorado is reallyyy good! Our 18 wheeler almost went off the cliff but Woll was amazing! McCabe was a beast again tonight. Matthews easily with his best game maybe all season. If we can pick up two points tomorrow we’ll be picking up steam at the perfect time.

Honourable mention to Carlo, he has really settled in nicely now. I wish Rielly would get it into another gear still but having Carlo, Tanev, McCabe, OEL out there is such a fresh outlook. I’m so used to just seeing guys like Lybushkin rip it off the glass in panic mode

honestly this game was looking like Boston series last year... Where Leafs controled the game and the possession but struggling to create great A scoring chances. Puck possession by cycling a lot doesn't make you better, it's only a way like an other to play hockey.

It's official, Matthews is back, we have hope this post-season. The guy has been his old dominant self, 3 consecutive games. He probably should've had 2 goals, could have had 3 tonight.

What cheese from Eddie Oczyk. I am waiting for him to tear up on the broadcast, Harry Neal style, beacause of his sheer joy and amazement for the game of hockey.

Not to pick on Rielly , but he was really weak here. Should have taken the body instead of just watching Necas drive the net. There wasn't even another Avs players behind Rielly to respect a 2 on 1. I only mention this because
A. Any other D-man on this team would have hit Necas instead of let him walk in
B. Rielly has a history of shoddy defensive play.

Need him to be better

It was just a great passing play. Sometimes you have to tip your cap to the other team instead of dishing out blame. That said our PK has been a little weak lately.

Agree for sure, just that poster saying it was his man, it clearly wasn't. Embarrassing spin.
