Not to pick on Rielly , but he was really weak here. Should have taken the body instead of just watching Necas drive the net. There wasn't even another Avs players behind Rielly to respect a 2 on 1. I only mention this because
A. Any other D-man on this team would have hit Necas instead of let him walk in
B. Rielly has a history of shoddy defensive play.

They played about as good as they can. If the goalies are playing unbelievable, they have a chance to win the game. Im not sure there’s another gear they go to.

I hate to think this is spot on, but it may well be. We played well, but COL still played better and the goalie was the difference. That formula can win a round or two, but rarely more than that.

Woll has it in him .. much better defense to protect against cross ice passes .. leave Woll to go 1 on 1 with anyone .. he is still our best 1 on 1 tender .. when Woll starts our D needs to play to Woll's strengths .. team looks much better with tanev back and at full speed .. boy did we really miss him

honestly this game was looking like Boston series last year... Where Leafs controled the game and the possession but struggling to create great A scoring chances. Puck possession by cycling a lot doesn't make you better, it's only a way like an other to play hockey.

It’s not the only way, but it’s an important way. Colorado disrupted our ozone time a lot yesterday, and we didnt have much sustained pressure in their zone. Any way you cut it, playing in the ozone more improves your game. If they are going to get checked hard and pressured fast in the playoffs, it becomes even more important to be good at it.
