Post-Game Talk: High Wolltage revenge Leafs 2:1 Avs

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

We were outchanced this game but we could’ve won by a few. We had some big chances that we didn’t capitalize on.
Blackwood played really well. We had some great looks that didn't go... missed some, Blackwood got the rest.

That GWG has to be stopped though. That's a stinky one.

It felt like whoever got the 2-1 lead was going to milk out the win.

They’re trying but that’s about all they have in them. If they didn’t care it would be far worse.

Really feels like
TOR/OTT
FLA/TBL

Would be a dream scenario for the league in terms of first round Atlantic matchups
A Toronto/Tampa second round sounds right, followed by a Toronto/Carolina conference final, and a Toronto/Vegas Cup final.

This team like they played tonight for me look closer to a team who can have succes in playoff than previous years.

The entire playoffs last year was them getting outplayed and Woll stealing games... we've already seen this formula, it worked well until Woll got injured.

You know usually when they are defending a 1 goal lead 6 on 5 I'm really nervous.

Not this time, I don't know what was different but as soon as they got that short handed goal, I knew they were winning.

Everybody Just seemed locked in

No.

The “entire playoffs” last year was the same as it had been for the previous four years - - Bozo the Keefe getting completely out coached.

He left Woll on the bench and started Samsonov the Sieve for the first four games to put Toronto into an impossible 1-3 deficit.

Next 5 games are NYR, NSH, PHI, SJ, LA, ANA. No reason to not go at least 4-1 over that stretch. NYR and LA games are the realistic ones we'd probably lose because LA is pretty decent and we play the Rangers tomorrow after tonight's game in New York which could be tough, but it is also the Rangers who have looked bad. Unfortunately for us the Panthers and Lightning also have a somewhat easy stretch their next 5. TB has 2 hard games though so there's hope.
Thats 6 games, lol.

Hopefully the boys take 4-6 pts from their Cali trip.

Matthews is starting heat up at exactly the right time.
he did this 2 years ago too loool

in his first 56 games he had 61 points, followed up by 24 in the last 18 (12 + 12)

He then followed it up with a masterclass first round vs Tampa. Let's end the 2023 season discussion there

if he can finish the season out with around the same ppg (19 in 14) as that last time he'd end with 79 in 66 which is a 98 point pace which somewhat salvages his regular season

he needs to bring it for the playoffs which he started out last time, hopefully it don't taper off like last time

Our goaltending is the best it's been since Belfour. If there's any reason to think we might make some noise in the playoffs, that's it.

It's been a while since I watched an entire game from start to finish, I was hoping this would be a good one and it was. On to the next one. GLG!!

Florida and Tampa will give them the division. There won't be anything to take.

We have 9 on the road and 5 at home so we'll have to be pretty good on the road.

Ottawa has 6 on the road and 9 at home. They have an easy'ish schedule. Hard to say if they can make a late run, but they'll likely make the playoffs, barring disaster.

that's not true at all. Woll was great, but the team outplayed boston heavily. Woll did make great saves, but the defence was better, the offence still was whack but at least scored enough to win the games and they came out to play both games.
