Yeah have at it. I guess you'd be swapping keepers or giving up draft picks to get a player that someone isn't protecting, but if you want to lock that guy in and protect him then I have no problem allowing those trades.

There's obviously not a lot of trade activity in this league in general, so perhaps nothing comes to fruition in the off-season either. But then again, if you're a team looking to improve your keepers, there may be some opportunity. I have 4 guys I'm keeping for sure, and then I'll only be keeping at most 4 of the following guys:

Stamkos
Connor
Guentzel
Ekblad
Morrissey
Carlson
Hyman
Zegras

Some good players there.

i'll do a ken holland move and massivley overpay for the guy i just cut a few weeks ago!

My keepers from last year were

mcdavid
crosby
barkov
robertson
terry
hedman
carlson (cut)

demko (cut)

potential new keepers

mcdavid
barkov
point
robertson
kempe
mcavoy

Ulmark

so one sport to give to either crosby, hedman, forsberg oder cozens. I didnt keep tage thompson last year and cozens could be a great player. But since they are on the same team, will he improve enough statistically?

terry is a great player but didn't prove to be really keeper worthy, and hedman isn't used on the Powerplay as much with sergachev improving.

I tried making some trades last offseason and there was some difficulty league wise. have we found a way to do it?

We won't be able to do it on the Yahoo site until after our next draft, but commish powers let you enter any keepers you want when next season starts up. So we can agree to trades amongst ourselves, and post them here so they are recorded. That's how one of my baseball keeper leagues does it, and it works out fine.

In that case, here is a list of some players I won't be keeping and are available for trade.

Morgan Rielly
Nazem Kadri
Drew Doughty
Seth Jones
Jonathan Marchessault
Vincent Trocheck
Brock Nelson

I'll be honest and I'm not trying to single anyone out here, I didn't look into making any trades before the season last year because people are thinking they can deal stuff that they weren't keeping anyways, so to me it wasn't even worth exploring.

I have Oettinger and Georgiev (I'd preferably deal Georgiev, but I'll deal either of them) and I'd deal one of them for a legit keeper defenseman if someone wants a goalie worth keeping. I'll deal a keeper forward too, but I'm not sure we're all on the same page here when I look at some of the other posts in this thread.

Looks like Winger98 and Holland's Revenge are stacked at defense (I had no idea Brandon Montour just turned in that good of a season, wow). Either of you guys want to deal a stud dman for a goalie or a forward? I don't think anyone wants to deal for someone they can just draft in the first couple rounds either, to me that's kind of a waste of time. Let's do some real trades here.

I am good dealing a D-man for a goalie. I would like to get a solid second guy going, goalies have been an issue for me each year.

Yeah I think the only rule we debated was the number of goalies you can have on your roster, but ultimately we didn't do anything about it.

Heads up, @Sparty, Yahoo has opened up this season's game. Since both my baseball teams are in rebuild mode this year, I'm ready for that hockey. Let's do that hockey.

Yeah this week is kind of busy for me, but I plan on setting it up next week.

Can everyone check in and let us know that they can play again this year?

I set up the league. I can't kick off a new thread today but I'll do it later on for sure. Keeper deadline and Draft Date/Time are negotiable, but I feel like that's kind of like what we have done in years past (Sunday Night draft).

If anyone wants to make any trades now, have at it, I'll push them through manually, I can swap the players and/or draft picks with commish powers.

I have one trade to announce. MD Spartys have traded Alexander Georgiev to Holland's Revenge for Brandon Montour. I just put it through in the system and the players are now shown on their new teams, I just waived them and added them to their new teams because I'm not sure there's any other way to do it. Like I said, I'll start up the new thread soon, I just don't have time right now. Look for it next week.

I might have to consider those players Turkleton, losing Patrice Bergeron leaves me with a keeper slot that I don't know how to fill. Can't believe dude just retired when he's still playing at such a high level.

He's like that rapscallion Nicklas Lidstrom!

And yes, for pre-draft trades the way you did it is the only way you can with Yahoo.

I'll trade my 2nd for Point if you're keeping him. If he's available to draft I'll just draft him
