It's why I'm shocked I'm seeing new episodes of anything right now. If Kripke can halt The Boys from airing, I wonder why other shows are getting aired with new episodes.
maybe they need to do some little reshoots or even just redub some lines etc and don't have the actors for these ones? Or maybe it just comes down to how far into the process they already were or something and some got passed through and some halted? Hell maybe Stiller is involved in the editing as the director and won't do it while actor striking? There must be a reason other than the companies just being more respectful, because that doesn't feel right from Amazon and Apple

@Ogrezilla and others, you's listen to audio books yeah? Ever come across good mystery / scary / thriller shortish (40-60 minute ) stories?

Anyone watch walking dead or the fear the dead or watever the stupid things are called.
I hear they are so hilariously bad they are funny to watch.... at least fear the dead after season 4...
Not sure I could put all that time into something so horrible though haha...

no I haven't read anything that short. I feel like that might be something you can find podcasts for though? I'm sure there are short story audiobooks out there though, I just haven't looked for them.

Have to stop by San Diego in a day or so for my Nephew's birthday and my wife has to go to Miami for work for 2 days and we extended the stay to Sunday.

I have no clue what to do in America's wang. I've only ever been for work and I'd be gone the next day so I never explored the place where geezers go to slowly die from skin cancer.

What is there to do there other than mass parks by Disney and Universal? Do I burn history books there and generally be an ignorant :eek::eek::eek: to fit in? I'm mostly just pencilled in for a good Cubano. Growing up in the east coast, I never really went to Florida oddly enough.

Do you golf? All I’ve done there is the parks, golf, the beach, and a pirates spring training game.

If by golf you mean no I don't bother with that boring shit, then yes.

So far it's Disney World or whatever the hell it is and bunch of random stuff my wife had an excel sheet of that gives me anxiety when I look at.

As long as there's booze I'll survive this.

I like 9 holes of golf. I’ve always wanted to be done well before 18 though.

Also for Disney I’d point out that magic kingdom only has booze at the more sit down restaurants, but the other parks have alcohol concessions to walk around with. Food and drinks are basically the point of Epcot.

You're going to be in Miami? That's a bit of a jaunt to Orlando.

My wife and I absolutely loved Miami. I feel it's the closest you can get to being in another country in the US. The food is amazing there and we like to go out dancing so we had plenty to do. Hit the beach for a day and people watched. We felt like we didn't have enough time in that city.

Already bored. Just waiting for Brunello to open up, then hit up Zegna, get some new office stuff at Mont Blanc and then I guess I'm going to Disney World or something. I thought it was supposed to be hot. I'm just in warmer Vancouver/Seattle shit right now.

At this point, even if i wanted to, I don't think I could get into Marvel just because any interest in new movies would likely require watching what, like 26 old ones?

It's like being a latecomer and trying to start anew into Discworld, or One Piece, or something like that. The sheer volume feels like a barrier to entry.

The nice thing about the Discworld books is that their broken up into different subseries. So it's not like you need to read 40 books in order without taking any long breaks.

I would appreciate some high-level guidance because I have long felt Discworld is a thing I should be involved in. I've seen recomendations to start with Colour of Magic (which I have read most of I think, a long time ago) and others suggest knocking out Guards, Guards and Mort first and then going in publication order.

Good Omens with he and Gaiman is one of my favorites and I know I appreciate that style of humor so I want to know more.

I haven't read all of the subseries, but I don't think you can go wrong with starting with either of those two. They're both excellent and totally logic starting places.

The Colour of Magic is the first book in the Discworld series, and I think it's a bit unrefined. Pratchett hadn't quite nailed his style yet in my opinion. I'd only start there if you're really serious about getting into the books, and won't be discouraged if that one underwhelms. The benefit of reading them in order is that you'll get more references to other characters/places/events in the different subseries as you go along. But you'll be totally fine just starting any of the subseries and moving on to another when you finish it, or even if you just lose interest in that particular one (for me that was the Rincewind ones).

There's flowcharts like this one that will basically let you choose a starting book and tell you which ones have connections to it, so that you don't miss anything:

This damn ad for the upcoming series is driving me nuts on this site. You have to keep refreshing all the time to quickly scroll down.

This is pretty cool

Slight correction to that description, it's a bomber not a fighter. Not sure how that slipped through considering they call it a bomber in the sentence before.

And yes, it's pretty cool.

Anyone ever see 'ringu' (original ring movie from japan)?
Is it actually scary? It is getting so difficult to find a scary film we haven't already seen =/
