welcome to the nerd talk! Sadly, those games are both also on MY hefty Steam backlog, so I can't really helpFirst time posting here...decided to join in on the nerd discussion. Took a long break from gaming but am now getting back into it. Recently built a new top of the line PC a few months ago (Luckily I was able to snag a 4090 right before prices went bonkers again).
Anyhow...About to finish RDR2 and move onto another game in my hefty Steam backlog. Leaning toward a shorter game to cleanse my pallet. Trying to decide between Dead Space remake or Evil Within 2. Anybody have any thoughts about these games? I heard Dead Space is pretty great but it is an older game so not sure if the mechanics hold up. Evil Within 2 has good reviews but didn't play the 1st one so not sure if I'll like it. I don't have a ton of time to game, so trying to make sure I don't waste time on games I don't really enjoy.
I've completed 36% of RDR2 the year it came out in the first month I had it.
I am currently at 36% completion of RDR2....
now to be clear I'm not a gym guy, but a tip I had from a friend who was is when he plateaus on squats he will actually drop 10 lbs and up his reps instead. Then when he can get back to his original weight max with a few extra reps he will go back to 3x5 with a higher weight.Bought a bunch of games during the Steam winter sale to add to my massive backlog because logic goes out the window when I see a game that is 50% off. Picked up Hollow Knight, Elden Ring, RE2 remake and a few others.
On another note, all of the beer leagues that I play in do not resume play until next week, so I have been hitting the gym hard to take advantage of the extra free time. I've managed to build my low bar squat up to 255lbs 3x5 at 145lbs bodyweight. Feels like I've plateaued so looking to change things up. Any suggestions? Maybe switch to Bulgarian split squats? The goal for me is to improve / maintain my skating explosiveness as I am now getting older
Mate I have tried and it's like shit, do I just start over and redo to the story up to that point? Or just try to wander around and figure out wtf the next story mission is? I log in, get annoyed and log out then just own people in Forza Motorsport until they start purposely smashing into me and that's my cue to quit.Lol, I actually played it to about 36% completion back when it came out and just only picked it up again recently. The story really picks up around the 50% mark, but it was definitely a slog for me in the beginning.
This is where I'm glad I have game pass. If I don't end up finishing the game, they'll just remove it eventually and it's like ah ok, meh time to download another game I'll play for 30mins lol.Bought a bunch of games during the Steam winter sale to add to my massive backlog because logic goes out the window when I see a game that is 50% off. I think that’s about how far I got into that show. Maybe 4 or 5. It was fine but it didn’t really grab me and I moved to something else and never went back.I'm only three episodes in, but the family in Six Feet Under is insufferable.

Switch up from traditional to Zercher and also seated to work on other parts of your quads perhaps? Some other squat centric drop sets as well. Do the heavy, between sets do lighter and go as deep as possible and be super controlled.
When I plateau for bench, I switch from dB to bar and work on certain movements to be as fluid as possible. Like a half way start to just push up for explosiveness with a good weight. For hockey it's a good one to build that box out strength for your arms or that one stiff cross check that says you wanna f*** around and find out?

Imagine all of the cool new curve angles you can watch Petrovic in now! Finally got my 34 inch ultrawide 1000R curve in the mail, this is so cool.
The game play was always cumbersome in these types of games, the story is what makes you forget about it and the stories for all 3 have been great, imo. Although I would say RDRevolver probably had the best balance of Gameplay + Story. Well RDR was also great, I guess if anything RDR2 didn't really improve on RDR enough but they always nail the story. It's definitely a slow burn. I just picked up where I left off. The story is not too complicated so even if you don't remember certain details about the story, you will still be able to follow along. However, if you value gameplay over story, then it might not ever click for you. The gameplay is definitely cumbersome.
Madden and NHL etc? Where is that? I see them all at $70. 100 for the deluxe edition or whatnot though.Hold up, those EA Sports shitty games are now $130 each?
Who the hell is paying for absolute garbage at that price?
Dude was killing it. On his way to being a full-on A-list star imo and just couldn't be a halfway decent human being to keep it going. He sucks. Also it sucks knowing that there are so many other folks getting away with that kind of shit.So Jonathan Majors huh, what an absolute twat of a human being. This bloke went on an interview, which is bizarre given his situation, then on record goes he'd never abuse a woman and essentially sounded like a bloke that is blaming the victim and seems to forget there's literally texts of him emotionally abusing his ex and about a physical altercation where he asks her not seek medical help because of perception. Then claims he wants partner like a Coretta King - which has MLKJr's daughter say yeah no thanks.
To be this dumb, I was a fan of his and felt he was really coming up big especially after the Lovecraft show, then his true colors come out. I guess we will have to stick with hyping Mahershala Ali.
Also I resent Majors bs about essentially needing a black partner. My mum is white and dad is black. Majors has a kid with a white woman. He definitely had a type until he hit one that didn't like it. Making us look bad and making women like my mum look bad because according to Majors that's how problems start with dating out of your race, so f*** you Majors. I hope he gets jail time.
It's bizarre to me how so many A listers flew to Europe to work with a rapist like Roman Polanski and seemed happy to do it. Or that Brad Pitt at 26 dated a teenaged 16yr old Juliette Lewis and also knew about Harvey Weinstein from Paltrow and even Jolie and still said he wanted to work with him and specifically sought him out to produce Killing Them Softly. Then he went on and produced a movie about Harvey with Apple.Dude was killing it. On his way to being a full-on A-list star imo and just couldn't be a halfway decent human being to keep it going. He sucks. Also it sucks knowing that there are so many other folks getting away with that kind of shit.
Whatll really suck is when he does 6 months, lays low another 6, does some daytime talk show apology tour, then gets right back to it.
