Mostly came to post the ending to Karamazov... what happened to
mitya's escape
I mean... there was potential for another 500 pages there!!! He (dostoyevski) mentions once or twice in the book he may write a continuance to this story.... I'm guessing he did not.

I never understood how calming a garden could be until my wife decided she wanted one a few years back. All I have is a 4x8 raised bed and a few additional troughs but I love doing it. I tried ghost peppers for the first time last year and shockingly got a bumper crop. I still have a bunch I had to freeze but I made some ghost pepper peach jam that was ****ing amazing. I still have like 8 jars put back because I'm the only one that actually eats it.

For whatever reason the one thing I could never get to work is Zucchini which is supposed to be super easy. Not sure if it's the soil or what but damn things just do not grow for me.
I am in the process of putting together two 3x6 raised beds. My goal is to grow enough to make myself a home-grown salsa.

Home grown salsa is so much better, no lie man. I made a big ole batch for a dude's trip last year with homegrown tomatoes, jalapenos, and a ghosty or two for some serious business. I did have to buy onions and garlic through....I felt shame. It was seriously the best stuff.

The difference is pretty striking. I had some off the shelf salsa recently and it tasted like straight salt and sugar with sad little soggy bits of whatnot floating around in it.

Don't feel the shame. I use store onions and garlic, too. The hell with trying to grow onions and garlic lol

Yeah I need to figure out if I can do garlic or onions, but the peppers and tomatoes are my priority.

And Salsa is super easy, right? Tomatoes, peppers, garlic and onions...some cilantro and maaaaybe some lime juice? I used a small lime worth and squeezed it in. Came out perfect.

that's certainly my plan for the first attempt at least. Maybe I'll try getting fancy some day.

Watching SW:Rebels to prepare for Ahsoka. Love this portrayal of the inquisitors, particularly the one voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar. 7th sister.
It's a massive upgrade on whatever the hell those inquisitors were in Kenobi. It's a damn shame Filoni can't write all these shows and have the final say in casting. He woulda saved it.

She could read the phone book and I'd be interested.

People born in 2000 are 23 years old. What the f***
People born in 1900 are dead. See how it goes?
:scared:

add:
Down the road there was this floral shop and it was there many years and one day it was not. Closed. Never knew why (I don't watch 'news') and for years it has remained closed. Mentioned it to someone and they said 'yeah how sad, she was involved in a fatal car accident and so young(ish)'.

Which just goes to show you how life works. In the blink of an eye, just a memory in those who still live. A few more blinks, a distant memory. In many more blinks of an eye, forgotten. Life is short - time moves fast...
I wonder how many people died waiting and planning to enjoy life and never without actually doing so.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is quite fun so far.
Its fun. More gigantic mystery world to explore... now above and below Hyrule.
The weapon durability seems even more absurd than the first. Get around 1 / 2 beasts per weapon IF youre lucky!

I appreciate what a terrifically crafted game BOtW and I'm sure the new one are. I really do.

But this mechanic alone would infuriate me so badly I wouldn't be able to get through the games.

I have played it for a bit but I haven't gotten into it as much as I got into Breath of the Wild. I don't think that's a reflection of the quality of game though, I've really noticed I've become less and less interested in Nintendo games for some reason.

It's probably just nostalgia, but I just look back on how I felt while playing say Three Houses, Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild and I feel like I'm not as interested in stuff coming out today. This is especially true with Pokemon, I enjoyed Pokemon Violet but I'm not thinking I'm going to play another Pokemon game going forward.

Well a lot of that is because the vast majority of new Pokemon games have been hot garbage.

But your point still stands. I grew up on Nintendo but honestly haven't been stoked for any of their titles in years. Like I said above I recognize their quality but they just don't do much for me at all.

Kind of the same deal with the vast majority of Sony exclusives. I see the quality... I understand why people like them. But they bore me to tears, personally.

Yeah that's actually why I'm just planning on stop playing them all together, the "best" game they have made in a long time was still super buggy and a lot of people had performance issues. I don't know if I've just outgrown the series or if the games are just way worse now, but it's definitely a series that was better in the past. I haven't liked any of the games since Pokemon Black and White as much as I liked Pokemon Black and White, and that came out a decade ago.

I think I've just grown bored of Nintendo at this point. I used to religiously play Smash Bros in college, mostly the WiiU version, and played a ton of Smash Ultimate when it first came out. At this point, I genuinely don't even remember the last time I played Smash Ultimate.

I guess there are just so many times I can play a Mario or Zelda game, ya know?

And that's literally all the company brings to the table are it's legacy titles. They have cool party games, too. But I mean... who has actual FRIENDS amirite?!?

...right?

Something like Smash, Mario Kart, or their sports games really need Multiplayer to be fun. And playing with randoms just isn't the same for them even if the online was good. The lack of good group lobbies and communication for online Nintendo stuff is honestly appalling for a company so focused on multiplayer stuff.

Seriously, how the f*** do you put out Mario Strikers with teams of 4 where you can't have a full team of people on their own console? How don't they have a decent built-in voice chat that can run in the background like a Discord channel or whatnot? I just don't get it.

Nintendo's strategy seems to be that they want to be the second part of the "I have a PC and a..." or "I have a PS5/XBox and a..." equation. Which is smart in some ways but limiting in most others. Their hardware is years behind and while "innovation" used to be a watchword of Nintendo it doesn't seem that way anymore.

It works for me to be fair. I'd rather the handful of Nintendo exclusives over the Xbox or playstation exclusives that don't make it to pc certainly. But they still have no good reason to be so damn stubborn on adopted decent online features. I would play so much Mario kart and smash if we could just have easy group lobbies and chat to do it. My friend group would buy every sport Mario game they release if we knew we could effectively play them online like that.
