I didn't expect Yurov to fall to 24th, that's good value right there.
My choices dropped like flies, Mesar is a personal fav of mine while Luneau and Goyette were also in strong consideration for this next pick.

With the 40th pick, Detroit is proud to select LW Alexander Perevalov from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl!

Now that I've given Montreal their french player, I'm going to turn my sights elsewhere. It should come as no surprise as I've talked about this individuals game in the past.

With the 44th overall selection in the 2022 NHL Draft, the Canadiens are proud to select the analytics darling...

:habs

RD Seamus Casey

We see Casey as a Samuel Girard type defenceman who excels at getting the puck out of his own zone quickly and breaking pucks out.

f***. I wanted Nyman where I took Warren, but thought he'd last a bit. 1st rounder for me

he was my next pick
Awesome pick. I'd love for the Oilers to get him if they trade down into the 2nd/early 3rd.

I'm high on Warren, if we kept 29, I'd have no issue with taking him

Not that I don't like Warren, but Cosentino's final draft rankings came out today, and he has Warren in his first round and Luneau nowhere to be found....that's crazy in my opinion. Has Luneau really fallen that far that he isn't the top Q defender anymore....not in my mind....in fact not even close in my mind.

I'll be honest, I really don't understand the Luneau hype. He processes the game well and has solid vision, but his physical tools scare me. His skating is especially rough. I really think that holds him back. It's quite rough. He just doesn't do anything at an elite level. He's a late 2nd for me. I do think he has NHL potential, but I think he has limited upside

As for Warren, it's all upside. He is such an incredible athlete. Massive, physical, skates extremely well. I loved his defensive game, great at closing gaps, stopping cycles, really uses his stick well, sound positional discipline, doesn't rely on physicality, but can punish when the opportunity is there. The negatives would be limited offensive tools, vision in the o-zone and puck skills. He's extremely raw though. That's what's so exciting. The thought of what he could be in 5 years
