With the 50th overall selection, the Ducks are pleased to welcome the draft's hardest-working player to the organization. From HK Nitra of the Slovakian league...

I'll be honest, I really don't understand the Luneau hype. He processes the game well and has solid vision, but his physical tools scare me. His skating is especially rough. I really think that holds him back. It's quite rough. He just doesn't do anything at an elite level. He's a late 2nd for me. I do think he has NHL potential, but I think he has limited upside

As for Warren, it's all upside. He is such an incredible athlete. Massive, physical, skates extremely well. I loved his defensive game, great at closing gaps, stopping cycles, really uses his stick well, sound positional discipline, doesn't rely on physicality, but can punish when the opportunity is there. The negatives would be limited offensive tools, vision in the o-zone and puck skills. He's extremely raw though. That's what's so exciting. The thought of what he could be in 5 years

To me it's the opposite. I guess that's why this draft is so fun. IMO, Warren already has the physical side figured out but hes not suddenly going to get more skilled, have better hands, think the game better and create offence. Despite his dominating physical presence he still put up uninspiring numbers. His skating isnt going to get much better. I dont see his ceiling being very high. Sure hes a great athlete but is he a great hockey player? I'm not so sure. I dont think he has the pedigree, production or potential that scouts drool over when they see a big guy who can skate.

I've always put more stock into skill, vision, hands and hockey IQ. Basically guys who are good at hockey lol. Luneau had a much more impressive season. He can still improve his skating a bit, get a bit stronger and make some subtle changes while really committing himself to become a professional athlete as he gets older.

Good pick, this guy looks like he might be a player if the WHC is any indication.
