@NJDevs26 I think we should replace Hells Kitchen with Burke's Tavern? Burke’s Tavern - Newark, NJ . RIP Hells - so many great times

EDIT - looks like a bunch of places switched out. Dinosaur BBQ, Edison Ale House

Anyone have any tickets available for 3/25? I need 4. Its my bday and I want to take my son (6) and daughter (5) and my dad to a game. wife will get the night off. we are rangers fans but the remaining rangers schedule just isn't conducive to taking young kids. This 3/25 weekend game would work though, and it's more about the experience for us than any team allegiance. in any event, if anyone has 4 tickets, please do reach out to me.

Aight, time to flex. Just finalized my schedule for the regular season and got the following tix:
- Leafs (tomorrow)
- Canes
- Minny
- 1st Tampa game
- (will probs go to UBS @ isles)
- Rags
- Pens
- Buffalo (final reg. season game at Pru)

Thought it was funny that you can get 2x tix in the good part of the 100s for like $100 and a solo ticket it $68  might as well get two and try to woo a friend to join me

unless they held back some ticket supply.. playoff tickets look like they will be very hard to come by. Almost nothing left after STH pre-sale today. Lower bowl is barren, mostly just 200s left.

I imagine that they held quite a bit back ... probably going through the list of partial sths, people that have gone to x# of games, offering playoff tix (at better pricing) as inducement to take on season tickets next year.

The Rock deffenilty needs a full refresh. Been to Wells Fargo center for a couple of games one v.s Dallas and the other our Devils. Building looks no older than ours. Better food options too. Better overall experience minus the shit hockey team they have which isn't my problem it's my pleasure!

like the other poster said I imagine they are holding a lot back for regular on sale. this allottment probably just takes into account the number of members who renewed for next year x4 with allotments appropriate for each section, and each round of releases will retain some. there's no way they are selling the entire lower bowl at a discount to members they are (rightfully) desperate for playoff game revenue

Especially with a Rangers first round series looming they are definitely gonna hold back on a lot of those and sell them for even more $$$.

Hopefully they can use these incentives to get some new season ticket holders and we can keep the seats as red as possible.

Definitely going to be more difficult this go around with the match-up looming. In 2012 we had the added benefit of being done our 2nd round in 5 games, the Rangers took 7 so our conference final tickets were already on sale to Devils fans first and they were able to move them first before the Rangers advanced to the conference finals.

my rep said that tickets will probably go on sale as soon as we clinch, so hopefully we keep this lead on the rangers and they keep it close with the pens so have at least a week or two head start to fill the lower bowl before they jump on it

Single game buyers should keep in mind the team will probably dynamically price those tickets higher for the first round with a matchup against the Rangers expected. I would imagine pricing will match the secondary so buyers shouldn't be expecting any discounts when buying from Ticketmaster.

I'm not even going to bother attempting to get tickets to round 1 since they will be priced as if they are playing the Rangers (Which is going to happen).

To spend probably $150 plus per ticket (after all fees) to sit in the 200's for a first round game seems crazy to me.

I'd rather spend more on a later round game where the stakes are even higher and half the building won't be rooting for the away team.

Understand and tend to agree. Plus, the Rangers/Devils games bring out the worst in both fanbases.

If they are playing the Rangers in the first round, season ticket holders (who renewed) will be able to sell those tickets for close to 3x what they paid ... and, if they bought extras at the "preferred" pricing, probably 2x ... paying for a bunch of subsequent round games, if they advance (and making some $$ if they don't).

Even if the Devils get ahead of it by selling most of the arena before matchups are set, there will be an extraordinary amount on the secondary market once matchup is set. Expect most of the resales through official secondary markets (SH, Ticketmaster, etc.) to go to Rangers fans.

There were doomsday predictions for 2012 as well but that never materialized, I think just as many Devil fans will want to be there for a) their second playoff series in a decade and the first with a legit chance to win (they were already down 0-2 with Kinkaid having turned into a pumpkin by then), and b) a Devil/Ranger series. Really the only time in the Newark days it was awful in a playoff game was 2008 Game 5, and that series was pretty much over too

No matter what I'd expect the building to be 50/50 blue and red if we play the Rags. I'd rather win the division and let Carolina deal with the Rags fans! This weekend might very well determine our fate even with 16 games left. Carolina is just a winning machine like Boston.

In 2012 I'm pretty sure they didn't just let anyone buy tickets to the playoff games. They made it more challenging for other teams fans which helped a lot.

This won't be that way. This will be whoever wants to pay a crazy insane price is welcome to do so.

For rounds 3 & 4, I get it being expensive, but for round 1, I don't see the value at what the regular price will be or what the secondary market will be.

I think there are a couple of differences this year. 1) That was a conference final, where Devils fans were more willing to pay up (and more had likely be sold in advance for the last two rounds); 2) the potential profit was probably not as great (due to the cost of that round; and 3) I have a feeling that the Devils are holding back quite a few seats for the public sale and, if by that time it will clearly be Devils/Rangers, the individual ticket prices will look reasonable to Ranger fans (vs. the Garden), but very high to Devils fans.

On the reasale: a season ticket holder in the 100s, defend twice side is paying something under $50/ticket if they renewed and got the best pricing and something like $75. Given what those seats are going for for the 3/30, what do you think a first round playoff game might go for? Probably enough for enough profit on one ticket to (more than) pay for the other ... so you know some sths will go that route.

Hopefully, as you say, the pent-up demand for a team that might actually be a threat in the playoffs carries the day.

Even during the worst of times it's never 50/50 and it certainly won't be 50/50 for this unless we get swept. It always looks worse than it actually is cause that ugly blue stands out.

We have literally had 2 home playoff games since 2012. I just don't see that many season ticket holders looking to sell their seats just to make a few bucks. Obviously a small sample but I don't know a single season ticket holder near me who isn't gonna be at the games.

The regular season games against the Rangers are easy money and happen every year. The playoffs don't.

There are also some sths who ALWAYS sell the Rangers games, as it's a way to recoup a good chunk of $$ and they don't want to deal with the nonsense that sometimes accompanies these games. Maybe they view it differently in the playoffs
\
I think a non-insubstantial # of sths bought extras this week to have more tickets for later rounds, knowing that they can make some $$ off of the first round (to pay for a chunk of subsequent rounds) if its the Rangers.

I guess my point is that I would expect a fairly significant % of tickets for a Devils/Rangers series to hit the secondary market, and an outsized portion of those tickets to be purchased by Rangers fans.

Maybe Devils sths sell those extras through forums like this or the various social media groups, increasing the chances that those go to Devils fans. Time will tell.

I hope you're wrong in assuming this management wouldn't do that, and I'd like to think the new marketing people know enough to realize what a disaster a split building would be in the team's second playoff series in a decade, and engage in their own Rock Your Red or whatever the ticket push was that year.

If they don't already know that, I think they'll get a warning shot later in the month when Devil fans will peace out of the regular season game because of the relative lack of importance given the team's playoff standing.

They'll be able to sell out a playoff series in 2023 with Devil fans only twice over, money has nothing to do with it. Even if we catch Carolina and it's against a random wild card team, it'll be the Devils' second playoff series in a decade. It's not like 2009 where they'll have to worry about selling out the first round because the fanbase is jaded over being in the postseason every year.

I have no doubt that the Rock will be packed with our fans come playoff time. We were down 2-0 to the best team in the conference in 2018 and Game 3 was one of the rowdiest atmospheres I can remember there. And that includes the entirety of the 2012 run.

Devils fan base is jaded by years of cheap tickets. They are still giving away a lot of tickets to every game through the Rewards program. They can certainly sell out to Devils fans at some price, but (once its clear that it will be the Rangers), if they go with some form of "dynamic pricing", the average Ranger fan will (imo) be willing to pay much more than the average Devils fan.

And if they sell out to Devils fans in advance at lower prices ... and then it turns out to be against the Rangers, some will get flipped.

I think allowing sths to buy additional playoff tickets is a great perk for the sth ... but I think it has the possibility of creating the perfect storm where a lot of those extras get flipped for a nice profit, and lot of the ones that are flipped go to Rangers fans. Maybe the fact that there have been two home playoff games in over a decade means that Devils fans will come out in droves, regardless of the price.
