Man Heineman is really gonna fall here. He's my vote but he absolutely has to stay healthy this year or he's gonna be looked at differently.

On the surface, I thought Bogdan was going to be one of the big movers up the rankings this year.

But when you drill down deeper, it's just really a deep pool, but I've been voting for him in the past 4 rounds.

It's only been a couple years since we have been recording year over year rankings but Heineman looks like he's going to set the record for the biggest fall, but then maybe Farrell breaks that as well.

I'm going to have the goalies and even Farrell ahead of Heineman.

With Heineman there are question Mark's about his ability to stay healthy and his hockey sense. With Farrell he has to get stronger and more explosive. Which are more improbable to overcome to become a good NHLer?

Has anyone seen Volokhin live enough times to comfortably rank him where we do, or is this based only on the stats and hype for Russian goaltenders?

It feels like there are so many more proven prospects available that I would rank ahead of a Volokhin who is still mystery lotto balls to me.

Hillis was -23 in 2022.

I watched a sizeable amount of his games - especially his playoffs. All the MHL games are on youtube and they are conveniently on in the morning/middle of the day so I can watch them while working.

He's got the most athletic upside of any goaltender in our pool, that includes Fowler. He's big, he's explosive, he's bendy and he makes some insane saves. He was practically unbeatable at the MHL level. I want to see how he plays against a better collection of talent and that will either send his stock to the moon or level it off a little bit.

Crazy that I see him as a serious bottom six option for the Habs too lol.

I did. He's good. Gets lost in the sauce a lot I find, his fundamentals are good but he ends up swimming more than he should, compared to Dobes who's just a brickwall pong like goaltender. The four goalie prospect we have are actually amazing IMO. Very strong. Volokhin was maybe the 3rd best goaltender in the MHL last year, Dobes wasn't great but he did very well as a rookie, Fowler was of course a menace and Miller was probably top 5 in the Q.

Not necessarily arguing he should be voted in here, but when Rohrer comes over in another season or so people are gonna be very surprised. He's comfortably flying well under the radar around this board.

True, but where would you rank him? We have many players that anyone can claim are flying under the radar. It may be a problem in making those rankings, but in reality, it is nice to have so many lottery balls we can just forget about and wait until hopefully a few of them pop up.

Yeah like I said not necessarily arguing for him to have been in already, more so just commenting on the lack of fanfare for him. In regards to the current poll, I personally would have him below Dobes, in a similar tier as Heineman and Volokhin, and probably above everyone else, but I am, and always have been fairly high on him.

He won a championship playing on the 3rd line in a very good pro league as a 19 year old for the whole season, I think that's pretty damn impressive and says a lot about his game to be trusted on a good team like that at his age. People compare lots of different prospects to Lehkonen, but I think Rohrer is probably the closest thing in our system to the version of Lehkonen we had with the Habs.
