Skrastins seems like a model of (mediocre) consistency.

I think Skrastins has had some tough luck. Right when he was about to be the man in ATL they traded him for Luke Hughes. I laid a really solid foundation of prospects for Atlanta that became the core after I got fired. I had traded for Matthew Knies, I drafted eduard sale and ivan demidov. A bunch of other late round picks I drafted became regulars with the Thrashers. I just never got them a #1 and that has basically hindered their cup aspirations.

Then Skrastins was the #2 RHD behind Nemec in NJ. So I hope he signs with a great team in UFA after this upcoming season as the #1 RHD

Reynolds is win.
Buche is really heating up now as a player.

Back to back 97 point years, so close to hitting my goal of 100 pts! Maybe next year. Also Reynolds is a beast, wow!

That Florida team is just stacked, it’s unfair

Next Update will be Saturday morning.

Trying to pace out the updates so that I don’t get burned out. But now that our superstars are coming alive it’s so hard to not want to update everyday. Just the reality of it is, I only have so much down time. But I love doing these series. I have a few creative articles and updates coming out to spice things up. For example a top 5 disappointments and a top 5 surprise players.

Just for discussion, how are we feeling about this series? Are we liking the bk database? Should we go back to ECK for the next one?

Did you like the random superstar/guaranteed superstar angle?

Notes from me;

I think I much prefer having a guaranteed superstar but that’s just me. ( I think I’ll leave that option for people to choose)

Loving BK’a database (loved ECK’s as well) but I’m a prospect guy and I love having as many real life potential prospects as possible. Like to see both Iginla’s sons turn out into superstars was incredible. Or even seeing Michael Misa not really explode like I was thinking he would. Or seeing Matthew Knies being a dominant force in this database. Also not to mention the international factor is amazing. Love seeing our guys actually represent their national teams even at lower levels.

ECK’s database does sim faster though and I do find our superstars become real super in that database because it’s more condense and less superstar players in general. But I love the fact that prospects are rated a bit higher in BK’s.

I think I’d like to stop the American/Canadian championship. But that’s the only thing I’d really change. I have a bigger inifinity for the Stanley Cup.

Overall happy with whatever we decide as a group!

@BKarchitect are you working on developing an updated database for the 2022/23 season?

Yes of course I've constantly got an updated version just haven't "officially" released it yet. Streamlining a few things, doing some course correction for early season performances and of course investing a lot into tons of real new prospects who should have bright futures - at least in this database. Beefing up a lot of the 07 & 08 birth year groups.

But no hurt feelings if the group wants to switch back for a season of the Pivot DB! I'll still be following!

I personally would like to continue with your database, love the international features. Let me know if you’re open to helping us out with some custom aspects like the thrashers ect

Sure!

Something else I thought would be fun would be to add former user superstars into the DB - not all around the same birth year but sprinkled in over a decade or so? It could be like the Superstar Legends HoF…they’d just be permanently in the database in all versions. Like I could import the original “build” of Ty Reynolds and other ultimate Superstars but switch up birth years randomly.
