Sad to see Andy go but glad he has a good year and finally got a chance. Monster year for Povysil, but regressing out of the playoffs sucks, maybe someone swings a big trade for him :naughty: I heard he once slept in Toronto PJ’s but only for a weekend

Wow Petr, exploded season for him. Andy happy that he moved out and had his best season in the NHL so far. No wonder as his ice time went to first line minutes and in the playoffs he had crazy ice time.
Sad the lost against a strong Wings team.
Hopefully he is resigning with the Bruins and not moving on to another team.

Finally seeing some true superstar performances…

Povysil is incredible and although his club team sucks he’s becoming Mr. Canada on the international scene.

Rockeem Maivia is an absolute menace. His a Canadian Championships run is eye popping - @francis246 did he put up those numbers as a defenseman or forward?

And Trusty winning all the awards but his powerhouse Canes fall just short. The bidding in free agency should be insane!

He played entire year as a defenseman. My defense was brutal last year. I’ve made some trades that will help bolster the line up and also clear cap space out. Had to trade PLD and Draisaitl. I lost Marner to Anaheim in UFA at the start of this season. And with many guys off the books for us, we have some money to spend in UFA

Alf really has put together a decent NHL career despite being a 7th round pick, not sure entirely why he continues to re-up with the penguins for peanuts but im sure he has a good reason. gonna be cool when his career earnings are lower than some of the superstars made in a single season at least

Season 13 Update (2034/35): It's time to break out and set yourself apart! Let's get after it. (Part 2)

Superstar Player News and Updates:
  • On August 4th, 2034 - The Kansas City Monarchs traded Petr Povysil to the Vancouver Canucks for Darryl Reeves, Phillip Larsson, Canucks' 1st Round pick in 2035 and Canucks 3rd Round Pick in 2035. (CPU TRADE - HUGE COULDN'T BELIEVE KC DID THIS! BUT THEY GOT A HAUL)

  • On March 8th, 2035 - Petr Povysil suffered a partially torn MCL in game that sidelined him for 3 months

  • On June 27th, 2035 - The Winnipeg Jets traded Karst Van Der Schaaf to the Los Angeles Kings for Pavel Zeman, Christian Nielsen, Olen Zellweger, rights to Joakim Svensson, Kings' 1st Round Pick in 2036 and Kings' 2nd Round Pick in 2036

League News and Tidbits:
  • Heading into UFA the Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers and New York Islanders have the most interest in pending UFA Crabb Mann. It's been said that he wants a change of scenery and an opportunity to be the clear cut #1 center somewhere.

  • Pavol Palffy has expressed his interest in signing with his hometown team but that is unlikely as Mason McTavish has signed an extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs after being a trade deadline acquisition. The Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning and Seattle Kraken seem to be the front runners to sign the star RW.

  • It seems like Aaron Tenders and the Montreal Canadiens are headed for an ugly divorce. The goaltender is currently unhappy with his GM and that was enough to head to free agency. He currently has 9 teams expressing interest and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. (Anaheim, Boston, Florida, New Jersey, New York Islanders, Quebec, Arizona, Kansas City and Vegas are among those vying for his services)

Toronto Maple Leafs News:

  • My Maple Leafs lost in the conference finals to the star studded Detroit Red Wings. That team is absolutely loaded and even with a very balanced roster I was not able to beat them. We will reload with manly the same roster and hopefully make a run again. We have about 4 million in cap space to use.
List of Trades I Made This Year:
Maple-Leafs-Trades.png

francis246's Top 10 Superstar Rankings (Season 12)
Player DetailsPrevious Season Rank (S8)Francis' Notes
1. RD/LD, Ty Reynolds 🇨🇦-What a break out season for Reynolds. Who knew all it would take would be Scheer coming over to Washington. Those two were as dynamic a duo as we've seen. Reynolds started hot and never cooled off. I think he will break the 100 point mark as a defenseman!
2. G, Jerzy Jaworski 🇵🇱-Hands down one of the best goaltenders in the league. St. Louis has been unstoppable since he became the Blues' clear cut #1. With him at the helm they've won 2 Stanley Cups. This is only the beginning.
3. RD/LD/RW, Rockeem Maivia 🇦🇸-Rockeem realistically is hands down the most dominant superstar I may have come across in a long time. He was a rock for my Maple Leafs this year. Playing in all situations and putting up great numbers. He had 399 hits on the year and is a bruising dman who can pass the puck!
4. C, Noah Sebastian 🇱🇻-Hello Noah Sebastian, we've finally been waiting for you to arrive. This is the moment the Sharks have been praying for. A legitimate #1 center with scoring ability and leadership. Sebastian has emerged as the player who can really help turn the franchise around. He is a two-way center and just an all around beast.
5. C, Petr Povysil 🇨🇦-A bit of a down year for Povysil because of injury. Despite that he still managed to go over a point per game and be dominant. I think if he were with Vancouver for the playoffs they would have won the cup. It was a huge trade to bring him over and he has been pretty dominant for the last 3 seasons. I expect him to regain his top spot in the next rankings.
6. RW/LW, Herold Van den Berg 🇳🇱-Honestly my favourite superstar! He continues to get better and better and might be on the best value contract league wide. He set a new career high this year with 63 points and is a high functioning offensive player. I think with more consistency he may hit the 70 or 80 point plateau. Here's to hoping he gets his big pay do soon.
7. RD/LD, Karst Van Der Schaaf 🇳🇱-Going back to back with the Netherland boys. Van Der Schaaf has been greatly impacted by the fact that his team blows. He's single handily kept the Jets a little bit relevant but he can only do so much on his own. So with his move to the Los Angeles Kings and hopefully getting time to play along side Adam Fox on his off side we may see Van Der Schaaf explode offensively.
8. RD, Lindt Scheer 🇸🇰-Signing in Washington was the best decision he made. For whatever reason things just didn't work out in Pittsburgh but moving over to the other side of the Rivarly and getting to play along side the best defenseman in the NHL at the moment was a strong decision. Scheer enjoyed offensive success as well as increased defensive play. Scheer himself is an offensive dman, but played more of a defensive role in Washington!
9. C/RW, Andy McDonald 🇬🇧-We are starting to see flashes of the player everyone thought Andy McDonald can be! I'm really rooting for him to continue this upward trajectory that we are seeing from him. Obviously the move to Nashville has been a great one!
10. RW/LW, Pavol Palffy 🇸🇰-He's still an amazing player, but the production has definitely dropped for Palffy. Philly just isn't the right place for him any more and I expect that he is going to choose a spot that is a secure fit for him.

I think Stanek needs a move. Quebec's had one season where they made the playoffs since he was drafted and they only made it by 1 point. I can't imagine him resigning at the end of his contract so better off they get a return for him when they still can.

This version has been pretty interesting to say the least, but I can’t lie a small part of me misses when my guy dominates. I’ll probably go for a guaranteed superstar next go round!
Have to admit it started well but I was expecting much more from a guaranteed superstar. Buche has one decent season in now 13 years. I don’t see that as a super star.

Most super stars in the NHL take 1-4 years to breakout.

Also the fact that this is the 2nd season in a row my player gets stuck in SEA and isn’t good enough to elevate the team to another level is/was disappointing. But I don’t mind so much being stuck in a bottom team if my guy does something super star like top 20 in pts after 3-4 years and/or if the team actually builds and progresses every year.

I do like all the scenarios though. Next time I will take a country that has more chances at the international level. This is specially fun before the player breaks out in the NHL.

Soooo what I get from this is that Patches is the new Carey Price lol Bloated contract, 2nd best goalie in the league and the Hawks are the last team to qualify for the playoffs

But now that he's in Chicago, the rivalry with Jerzy Jaworski will be even more intense!

He can't lose to him... 2 Cups coming right hot for Chicago

Not if Toronto has anything to say about it! Just picked up McDavid in free agency.

MacTavish - McDavid - Nazar
Kiviharju - Maivia
Spencer Knight

That's a top line ;) We are first in the East right now!

Should have grabbed Patches when you had the chance ;)

He'll make you regret picking McDavid :D
