After not going to a single game all playoffs (didn't get them for our season tix because of the weekday issue and our recent vacation) I had to get tix for the Finals, regardless of the day of the week. Now if only my kidneys would chill out for just a little bit...

If it's Coachella I'm guessing 2-3-2, it's it's Milwaukee I'm betting 2-2-1-1-1. Really hope we get a weekend game...I want to buy tickets this morning but can only go weekends so probably won't be able to without knowing the dates.
I would guess the Calder Cup Finals will have a 2-3-2 format regardless of the teams involved. Every Calder Cup Finals in the last decade has had that game format, even when the teams were close enough for bus trips.

How did Coachella become so good in their first year? Loaded with Chris Bourque type players?

Between the expansion draft and free agency, Seattle loaded up on AHL talent for them. They have a top AHL vet in Poturalski, other veterans like Max McCormick and Kole Lind having career years, AHL roty Tye Kartye and one or the top rookie blue liners in Ryker Evans. Besides Evans they have some pretty solid AHL dmen like Brogan Rafferty (50+ points), Matt Tennyson and Jimmy Schuldt. Plus a solid goalie tandem in Joey Daccord and Chris Gibson. I figured they'd be a pretty good team before the season started.

Drove to Hershey for the Stars on Ice figure skating show today (daughter skates). It was neat to see all the businesses with "Go Bears" type messages on their signs. This team clearly means more to the community than the average minor league sports team does. Its nice to see.

The wife & daughter did the Meet & Greet after the show. Of note, one of the skaters was wearing a CV Firebirds hat. My wife asked him about it, apparently it was just a hat. He had no idea about the AHL playoffs, etc. Weird coincidence, though.

Curious what that pays….

Probably a lot better then what he's getting now I'd assume.

Feel like he's got just enough name value to maybe pull in a pretty solid KHL deal too. I am still kinda surprised though. He wasn't a world beater, but I thought he'd done well enough to stick around the AHL and be a EBUG type of guy. Still only 28.

Stevenson should make it next year for sure. Then they probably either re-sign Shep or sign another vet goalie through UFA. Can't see Hershey roll with two rookies in net to start the season.
