The Pacific Final and Central Final won't be completed at the earliest till Friday. If the Central goes 5, then Sunday. So the ECF doesn't start till Tuesday and the WCF has yet to be scheduled yet.No Friday or Saturday games in Hershey. Dang.
Just curious, any thoughts on Todd Nelson as a coach? How would you say Hunter Shepard played?I was at the game last night. A few takeaways:
1. Iorio is legit, even before he scored -great shot- he was so calm and poised breaking up zone entries, easy breakouts, tons of anticipation, and some pretty good hands. I am easily convinced but I think the Caps have something here.
2. McMichael played like he was a crafty old vet. So effortless on the faceoffs, I haven't seen the stats but he seemed to dominate. His assist was a POP great play. Don't love him on the PK. I think he is ready.
3. Lapierre and Protas underwhelmed. Protas was noticeable on the forecheck but Lapierre was a ghost out there.
4. Frank is a little pinball out there. I don't know how it translates to the NHL but if he could change his game into a Chimera type player I could see him sticking.
I am torn on Shepard. He was a beast in the game, 30+ saves, the Bears took a ton of penalties so he was under fire a lot. Two sides to this, he let up a lot of juicy rebounds right in the slot and around the net, however he composed himself and made the 2nd and 3rd save. I would have to assume at the next level, he isn't making the 2nd save let alone the 3rd as often. Honestly, he can be a great AHL goalie for a long time. He is listed at 6'1 I don't see how that is accurate, he looked tiny in net compared to Louis Domingue who was in for Hartford. I sat 4 rows behind the net.Just curious, any thoughts on Todd Nelson as a coach? How would you say Hunter Shepard played?
Ugh meant to dvr but at least I'm on it now.Do the thing, Bears.
