Nice response by Shepard. Their best player when they needed him to be early.

Shep was outstanding. Made a jaw dropper in the 1st going side to side. A huge one in the 2nd when he made a series of 3-4 in a row and then his glove hand came up big a few times in the third. Well deserved shutout. Wasn't very impressed with Protas tonight. Some bad turnovers and looked like he was floating. Malenstyn stood out again. He's going to force his way onto the caps if he keeps this up. He's really fun to watch live. McMichael shined and a scrappy wall battle to end the game from him. Lappy was so-so...really think he's just out of gas and powering through the motions. Iorio got walked once early but was solid after that. Frank continued his invisibility trick. New series.

Haven't been able to watch this series yet as I'm away on vacation this week. Checked out the Amerks thread on the Sabres board and they're doing nothing but bitching about the officiating and how they're playing "5 on 7." Someone on the Bears FB group I'm in said their fans were complaining about the refs on FB after game 1- which they won by four goals. Surely it can't be that bad? Not that our own fans never whine- every fanbase whines about refs- but it's kind of a shame to see- I had sort of a soft spot for the Amerks as my parents lived up in Rochester and went to games all the time after they got married in the mid 80s.

I recall one bad missed call on them but we immediately got the makeup. Two bad missed calls on us which they did not get a makeup for last night. I think they have reason to be a little upset but sometimes that's the way it goes. If they're mad about the embellishment that got called on them they shouldn't be. He was bitching and crying every chance he got, then flopped. Refs were tired of him.

There were two boarding calls in Game 1 that went uncalled and the official in the second game has a history of tilting things in the favor of the opposition because it seems like he's trying to show his impartiality since he played for the Amerks about 8 years ago.

Tremendous first road period for the Bears. Up 1-0 after 1, Logan Day on a nice feed from Protas. Frank is healthy scratched. Iorio also out with an injury. Day to day.

How do you watch the game on CSN? Is it just the radio station or do we actually get video some were?

Bears win 4-2 and take home ice back. Protas and McMikey had tremendous games. We took a beating in the third after controlling the game through the first 40 but the turtle held up and an empty netter sealed it. Shepherd probably the #1 star again.

Reminded me of the Trotz Caps, were playing great defense and it got them the lead and then they turtled coming out of the 3rd.

Two thoughts coming out of the game.

- I wonder how much the outcome of these playoffs affect Nelson's chance of being the Capitals new bench boss. If they win it all, is he suddenly the favorite?

- Shep was making some huge saves, and undoubtedly the reason they win this game, but with the little I've seen of him I can't imagine him being on the NHL level. Seemed really panicky at times in the crease and I feel like he's very "small" when he drops to the butterfly. Feel like that'd get eaten alive in the NHL.

What’s up with Frank? Is he hurt? He was having an amazing season but has had a bad showing in the playoffs. I’m now doubting he can make the caps next season.

Nice win bears. Keep on rolling.

Would have liked to see Suzdalev in for Frank
Not so sure he's ready for the intensity of conference finals at the pro level. Moving up Morelli who has been dynamite so far in the playoffs and using the speedy veteran Gersich to fill his role on the 4th was a far better idea for winning the game. For example, Matt Savoie who is a far better prospect than Suzdalev has his first two AHL games under his belt this series for Rochester and hasn't looked very impactful and often physically overmatched.

Feels like the Bears picked up where they left off period 3 of game 3. Just not sustaining anything.
