What in Gods name has happened to Frank?
Two theories...either he's cooked on too many games this year kind of like Lappy or the injury he sustained towards the end of the season is worse than he's letting on and holding him back. He looks like he's struggling to move out there, can't get his shot off either.

Also for as much as joked about them in the regular season, the fourth line has probably been their second most consistent all playoffs. I'm really enjoying watching them now. Beck in particular has found another gear in the playoffs and should definitely get a real shot in DC next year.

I had Frank as a lock on the Caps next season but after his playoff no show im not sure he makes the team out of camp.

Between fighting a kidney stone and going on vacation during the past couple weeks, I haven't been following the team too in-depth recently before today. Anyone know what's wrong with Sgarbs and if he's due back soon? Obviously it's hard to find AHL injury news

I heard a rumour it's broken ribs but can't confirm or deny. No ETA on a potential return.

It was pretty incredible watching Hershey flip the switch after like halfway through the 1st last night. The 3rd they were basically on the powerplay all period at 5v5, they were truly dominant.

I'm still not sure how to judge the prospects chances for NHL level play yet. The game just feels so different that I almost want to call it an apples to oranges comparison. Protas, for example, felt kinda invisible most of the game to me but then just absolutely dominated the last 5 minutes of both games.

What happened to Shane Gersich? Part of the Cup run, doesn't get another sniff and now isn't even a regular on this run..

He’s always been a fourth line player, whether in the nhl or ahl, and the bears are fine using a fourth line either with or without him

Judging by lack of commentary today this was not much of a game

Saw Rochester score like 10 minutes in and when I rejoined the game it was 2-1. Then ROC scored again.

Not their day today. Focus on the next one.

Americans win game 5.

The refs are not even remotely why the Bears lost, but I can't say I'm seeing this horribly anti-Amerks officiating that Rochester fans have been bitching about for a week now.

Subban didn't break this time. Rochester adjusted well and didn't give Hershey a tremendous amount of quality chances after Protas scored. Shep probably could've had the third one.

I'm reminded of the 06 conference finals, where after dominating the first two rounds, Hershey was up 3-1 over Portland with a chance to close out the series on home ice in game 5 before ultimately having to finish the job in game 7 overtime.

I believe Nelson likened this game to the teddy bear toss in January, where the team felt a lot of pressure to put on a show in front of a sold out crowd. It's natural to have jitters for a huge game like this, especially since most of the team has never played a game like it before, but you've gotta win those games to be crowned champs.

I'm not sure if I see Rochester dropping all three in their own barn so I'm bracing myself for a game 7. Hopefully they respond and come out swinging like we know they've been capable of in these playoffs.
