I really don't like that 2 & 3 format. It scares me given our track record at Bojangles. That and Charlotte getting players back if (when?) Florida loses to Boston.
If they can manage to at least split in Charlotte I think they should be in decent shape. Obviously winning both outright would be most ideal but I'm trying to stay realistic, lol.

I'm not sure who (if anyone) they'd get back besides Lyon but he's significant enough on his own.

Phantoms broadcaster is mistaken, believing games 1 and 2 will be in Hershey. If only!

I get trying to limit travel, but man, Charlotte sure gets quiet the advantage for being "far away." All three games at home in the first round to go with the Friday & Saturday games in round two. Having the Wednesday & Thursday games in Hershey certainly takes away the 10,500+ fan home ice advantage. I live two hours away, one way. No way I can come up for any weeknight games with work & a kid in school.

Five straight home games to start the playoffs (despite being the lower seed in one of the series) must be pretty damn nice.

Remember the New England purge of 2015 as the AHL headed west? Wouldn't mind seeing some of the southern ECHL teams promoted in lieu of some of the remaining northeast teams so they can have their own division and leave us the **** alone

Or, you know... just get rid of the damn play ins and 3 game and 5 game series and make it four rounds/all best of 7 again! (Yeah, I know, pipe dream)

I flipped over to the Colorado game just in time to see "Playoff Goal Scorer Kale Kessy." If the Bears struggle next week & Kale is scoring out west, the Facebook hockey experts ("Play the Grit Guys, dammit") will be insufferable. Good for Kale, getting a chance he wouldn't get in Hershey, by the way. Seems like a decent guy off the ice who's on-ice "talents" are a generation too late.

I'm watching the Coachella Valley & Tuscon game (like watching teams we will never see) and don't see how CV should even be playing this round. I agree 100% the play in round is stupid, unless it's a 4 vs 5 series type thing. CV put up 4 goals on their first 7 shots in under 9 minutes. Since Kessy scored the other night, I am completely expecting a Wittchow goal in this game.

Yeah no chance I can make any of the first round games...here's to hoping for some real home ice advantage in the next round if we make it.
Hartford would be 2-2-1, I think. That's what Fisch said would be the case if they wound up being the first round matchup. I think Providence would be 2-3 based on distance (5.5 hours) and the fact that it looks like Providence and Lehigh played a 2-3 series in 2018. But in that case, the series would start in Hershey given they'd be the lower seed (barring arena scheduling conflicts).

Went ahead and ordered the Calder Cup AHLTV package when I saw that Suzdalev was re-assigned to Hershey to be available for the playoffs. Not sure what kind of a role he will have, but I'm excited to see how he does at the AHL level in a playoff environment.

Barring injury, I wouldn't count on him getting any playing time. Coach Nelson had indicated that the lines for the last regular season game were going to be the lines for the playoffs. Who knows, though. Still beneficial for development to be around a pro club for their post season run.

Good to know. I will temper my expectations.

I guess more of a black aces for Hershey which is fine to experience playoff professional hockey.

Yeah, that's what I read. I didn't quite know what it meant and that it implied they wouldn't play unless there was an injury. I wonder if they might bring him in if they get behind and want to try to shake things up, though. Probably not.

Hershey with four goals on eight shots. Still 15 minutes left in the 2nd. Protas, Lapierre, and McMichael with goals among "prospects." Lapierre also with another stupid penalty against Chatlrlotte which allowed a PP goal against.
