I guess that 6 players who knows how to score 30+ goals per season easily one of them 40+ goals, all decline at the same time has absolutely nothing to do with our coaching staff.

Heck if we weren't so lucky Sutter would be done here since 2 seasons.

I remember when the clock saved us the playoff spot against Tampa bay.

Can we fire Sutter now ????
I am tired to watch the same crap hockey since Terry Murray.

We are freaking 18th in goals scored with Williams, Brown, Kopitar, Richards, Carter, Gaborik, Toffoli and Peason.....
Other teams would kill for a top 9 like that.

You do know John Stevens will be the next coach right....? You realize that right ?

This is a culmination of the disastrous run of events following the Kings Stanley Cup.

- Don't buyout Richards with no cap penalties last June, now will be stuck with 2m a year for eight seasons and 4m a year for another two. Dean's worst move as Kings GM.

- The Greene extension. Not well thought out, and the coaches playing him over McNabb when McNabb looked to have turned a corner could have long-term effects on McNabb's development. That was some Barry Melrose/Sam McMaster style coaching and management by Darryl and Dean.

- The Voynov situation which while obviously not managements fault, couldn't be fixed because DL decided to pay over $8m a year to an AHL center and a #7 d-man.

- The Pearson injury. The Kings were a slow team until Pearson came up last year, when he went down the Kings seemed slow again. King filled in admirably but he is a 3rd line LW.

- The Sekera trade. Not saying it was a bad move or I wouldn't have made it, but with the team looking like they will miss the playoffs they lost a 1st in 2016 for a guy they may not be able to pay what other teams can offer. I'd like to see him back, but if someone offers huge money the Kings can't match it because Dean has done such a poor job managing the cap.

- Stoll and Richards as 3C's all year. Enough said. Over 9m in cap space for these two this year and neither one was able to play a 3rd line role, how ******* sad is that?

- Kopitar and Carter. The Kings simply need more next season, period.

Oh well, like RP said this may be good in the long run to see heads roll this summer. DL can't be all sentimental and think with his heart instead of his head this summer like he did last summer.

4th team to comeback from 0-3 in a series and now the 5th team to win the Cup and miss the playoffs. Sounds about right. Personally I'm not even mad. The last 3 years have been awesome. More than I ever expected as a Kings fan over the last 22 years.

I'd post the same thing. 300 games in three years? Guys need a rest. And some of them have hit the end.

Most reasonable playoff scenario for Kings: beat Calgary, beat San Jose, pray for Winnipeg to beat Calgary on Saturday

We don't have to pray for that.
Calgary will get at least 1 point and will let the Jets win.
Nobody wants to face the Kings in Playoff

The roster will be a lot younger that's for sure. That will mean growing pains.

I'll take growing pains over vets getting slower and sucking. McNabb had some growing pains this season, but I'm fine with how his season has went

No team will ever lose on purpose. Unless the management decides to ice a team of scrubs, but why would a potential playoff team do that?

Honestly, the Kings simply do not deserve to be in the playoffs. Kopitar has been horrendous and you just won't win games when your best player is often times a ghost. You guys can blame being tired or the physical style that the Kings play, but look at the Blues, Blackhawks, etc. Chicago has been to just as many deep playoffs, if not more, than us. You want to blame it on their change of core & turnover of players? Well no one had a knife to Lombardi's throat and told him to re-sign Matt Greene or to keep Mike Richards.

Winnipeg & Calgary deserve to be in the playoffs. The Kings don't. I've said for maybe 2 weeks now and everyone is hopping on the same train of thought as me. Was this a trap game? Maybe, but no reason to come out flat the way they did, especially after not even showing up to last night's game either.

Let's remember something: the Kings were one game away from being swept last year but turned a flick on and went on a historic run, one that has never been seen before. If they do lose, I bet you this team is not the same. Mike Richards would've been bought out, I doubt Matt Greene gets an extension and who knows if another drastic move would've taken place to a certain captain of ours.

There is no hope. Even if the Kings win Thursday, Winnipeg will let Calgary win so that both Canadian teams make the playoffs. Not to mention the Kings would still have to beat San Jose on Saturday afternoon (lol).

There is no guarantee we get back. With every year the core either gets older, more expensive, or both. This year is a prime Quick, Doughty, Kopi year, to throw it away like this is disappointing

Nobody said it wasn't disappointing, only that it is just one season and our core is still way young enough to get right back to the finals again next season. Clearly we are spent and missing Pearson VoyonvSekera and a legit 3rd line C. I believe we will address those issues this off season and be right back to our winning ways again next year. At the very least I would say that we are closer to getting back to the playoffs and potentially as contenders then we are blowing things up.

A) Pearson got hurt. Not sure how the blame goes to Sutter.
B) Carter, Gaborik, and Toffoli have been fine.
C) Kopitar is actually not shooting the puck this season, which I can't imagine is something coaches tell him to do.
D) Williams has been a disaster with the choices he makes
E) Why are you adding Richards to that list?
